@ellette-giselle This is random, but I just had someone call Baron a babygirl.
Which apparently in this context “refers to a man who is both attractive and charmingly sensitive (or brooding/self-possessed/quirky) as opposed to stereotypically macho.” (Merriam Webster)
I just thought it was kinda funny, lol. -

Lucy picked up one of the candles. She tried blowing it out, then brought it to her nose and sniffed it curiously. It didn’t smell like anything. But it could be useful if they brought it with them.
On the one hand, the room disquieted both of them, but at least every element was familiar. Lucy even recognized the crochet pattern i…[Read more]

Should I add Chase to our merry little band?
You can do that if you want! As long as you can handle the two of them lol

Thank you…do his earlobes look uneven to you?
I know random, but it’s the typical critical eye after I can’t change anything.

This is unrelated and I really shouldn’t be awake right now, but I’m confuzzled

Has anyone else ever seen the time on a comment labeled “right now”? Really silly, I know, but I have never seen that on KP before.

Finally decided to join.
I’m gonna add Tenz and Reid since they’re highschool age. I did have them in another rp, but I kinda wanna see what happens here. Plus Tenz has healing abilities, and that may be needed the way this rp is going.
Tenz and Reid
Identical twins.
They both have unruly black hair (Tenz’s more so, Reid at least tries to…[Read more]

The Protector — Gabriel Mai
Gabriel kept walking in silence. Without any information, he could do no more but worry about their predicament. After a time, the hallway opened into another room. Gabriel froze, pulling Lucy back. Lit candles flickered on a table inside the room. Gabriel pressed himself against the wall of the hallway b…[Read more]

I tried out a new style on Baron, both in hair and drawing.
I like both.
I decided to change his hair for at least while he stays with Jenna because it doesn’t make sense why he’d still not at least try to comb his hair.
What do you think?

“Hm.” Lucy was still thinking about Gabriel’s previous words. Maybe their homes were near each other; after all, Lucy couldn’t leave her city either. “I… No. Didn’t see anything.

The Protector — Gabriel Mai
Gabriel smiled. “I didn’t know there was a feminine version. Your home sounds so different than mine. I wonder if the entire world is so different. I’ve always wondered what’s beyond the sea that isolates my home, but we aren’t allowed to leave.”
His foot stepped on a rotten floorboard, causing him to s…[Read more]

“That’s nicer than being called Fifth at your christening.” Lucy glanced at him. “That’s my ma’s name too. Gabriella, I mean. It’s the prettiest name I know.”

The Protector — Gabriel Mai
Gabriel paused. “I suppose. When I don’t wear my mask, I’m merely a strange peasant. When wearing the mask, people think I’m a hero. They say I’m probably some rich knight who decided to dedicate themselves to protecting the people from afar. They never suspect that the real man behind the mask s…[Read more]

After he was sure the floor was steady, the Protector gave Lucy one of his blades again. Lucy held it with the tip pointing down, but it glowed enough to illuminate their path. The walls swelled from years of shifting earth; dark solidified soil cracked through the plaster. Where the wall was unbroken, someone had decorated it with…[Read more]

The Protector — Gabriel Mai
Gabriel sheathed his blades. Now only the rune on his mask glowed, but he knew if the room tilted and they fell, his unsheathed blades could kill one of them. He grabbed Lucy’s hand, nervous about being separated again.
“Before this room shifts anymore, let’s get out of here.” He looked around the r…[Read more]

There was another door ahead; gray, with wooden panels, it was the kind of door that hid along an equally gray wall in a sagging house.
“I want to know why it’s here.” Lucy got up and, after some thought, played a descending scale.
The floor creaked. As Lucy played, the room shifted like a ship at sea, and when she looked at the…[Read more]

Gabriel flinched at the loud boom of the piano cover. He cast Lucy a glance, making sure she was okay, before peering inside the piano. “It does have strings.” He hit one of the keys, watching the hammer strike the corresponding string inside the piano, silently fascinated.
Eventually, he dropped his h…[Read more]

Yep, those are the rules I remember - Load More

Okay…… 🤣
That’s kind of funny, actually. Though I’d prob. not like it if my character was called that. Not very flattering name. 😂
Btw, how is all that going? Did you find someone to publish it?
I was very confuzzled when they said that. I personally won’t be adding it to my vocabulary but I found it interesting.
I still plan to go with Wild Horse Publishing, if you’ll still have me, however the current thing holding me back is money. I do not have enough saved, and I don’t have a job yet due to health issues.
As soon as I get a job…[Read more]
Oh yes of course we will! Okay yeah, did I give you a price quote yet? Take your time. However long you need is fine.
No, you haven’t given me a price quote, but from what I’ve seen online, it can take up to $2000 to $4000 to publish. I was planning on saving $2000 but I only have $700 right now. Maybe a little more after winter because I do get snow money and I have a few relatives who always send Christmas money because they live too far away to see us, but at…[Read more]
Well, I can tell you right off the bat that it will not be that much to work with us. If you give me a page number then I can give you an estimated quote on what you need to have in hand before we can start.

The reply button had to go to bed apparently.
My doc is currently sitting at 97 pages. I do plan to go through and edit though, since I’ve found some week spots, and also need to clean things up, but it’d be around 100 pages.
I’m sorry if that’s too vague for you, that’s the best I can give until I go through again (I stepped back…[Read more]

yeah no worries. I have to do something really fast, but I’ll get back to you on that in a minute.
So, running that as a mockup, here are the estimated prices to print each book.
Paperback, black and white illustrations—
$3.66 per book (not counting shipping, handling, and tax)
Hardcover with dust jacket, black and white illustrations—
$10.14 per book (not counting shipping, handling, and tax)
Hardcover with printed case no dust jacket,…[Read more]
Woah, that was not the numbers I was expecting.
So, I have the money I guess (the sad thing is it looks like I’ve had enough for months and didn’t know it).
Thank you so much!
About illustrations, I’ll probably do those myself to save on money and capture my vision.
For an editor, I know that I need one of those lol so I’ll get into that.

I would have been sad if you didn’t want to do the illustrations! It just wouldn’t have been the same! ☺️
well, i think the time of stepping back will actually help you refine it, so maybe it’s a good thing! We have a few editors working for us, or if you know of someone else, feel free to chose them as well. Here are our editors, but don’t feel…[Read more]
loll this is so funny to me, I’m active in a lot of online fandoms so I hear this term all the time 😂 it’s usually used for well loved characters or people so please consider it highest compliments
LOL.
Bro what—
Oh I would hate it if someone called my characters that lol
(Given that most of my charries are from fanfics, there’s a very high chance someone already has.)
Lol. I don’t like the term itself, but I find it flattering that someone used a term that meant that about my character because it shows affection.
That seems like a pretty broad category to be fair, lol, unless the character has to be obviously sweet/sensitive/vulnerable in order to qualify. But that’s still funny.
Oh no…
I just realized Hugo is textbook “babygirl”
I am ruined
Lol, he is totally.
If his girlfriend called him babygirl, he’d probably just shrug it off. That’s how textbook perfect he is for this term. I’m not sure whether to be fine or not fine with this.
