@seekjustice Oh, didn’t I? Whoops! 😛
I used to like boys books way more than girls books, because they had more adventure. Now I like both. We also had a lot more boys books than girls books when I was growing up because I have an older brother… 😉
I like Alcott except for her feminism, but that’s hard to avoid in any case. Jo’s Boys is…[Read more]

@xonos-darkgrate Cool! Was the drawing for one of your stories? What style art do you do?
@catwing Hello! Did you have fun? Learn anything? Meet anyone? What are you working on now?

@jenwriter17 Cool.
Nope, no advice. I’ve been looking over the plans you and others have suggested on this thread and thinking that if I ended up joining it’d be sink or swim for me, with a leaning toward sink. 😛 I am so inconsistent in my work! Basically I mean, if I was able to keep up it would be just what I need to be consistent in my wr…[Read more]

You…don’t like Anne of Green Gables???? No. Please, no.
I didn’t understand Anne of Green Gables until I became a writer, but I liked it even before then. But, did you read it before you started writing? If so, why not try it again? (and the rest of the series. 😉 )
POLLYANNA IS AMAZING.
I liked the What Katy Did series, but I don’t rem…[Read more]

Rochellaine replied to the topic Swear Words In Stories? in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 2 months ago
@ariel-ashira I’m not going to give you a cut and dried answer here, because, like everyone else said, I don’t know if there is a specific answer.
One thing I will say, is that you would probably want to stay away from the curse words which include God’s name. Other curse words can be debatable, and I know that it’s your character saying it and…[Read more]

@seekjustice I usually look up any new musical you mention immediately and listen to at least a few bars, but I can’t right now because I’m waiting in the back while my dad gives a seminar. (I love it when he gives seminars, because I get to sing while people are coming in. 😉 ) So, I’ll just have to ignore the “music” side of it for now and a…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m going back to our old question: Have you listened to any new musicals lately? 😉
@xonos-darkgrate Well, if you’re here now, the normal question is “What are you working on?” to start things out. 🙂 So, are you working on anything at the moment? Research, outlining, planning, brainstorming, or actually writing count. 😉

@seekjustice Hi!! That’s okay. I was too. 😉 How’s it going? I’ve been desperately waiting for someone to be actually writing instead of just planning because I need to have some word wars. My book isn’t progressing, and that’s the best way I can think of to force it to write itself. 😛
@xonos-darkgrate Seekjustice may be answering you alrea…[Read more]

@xonos-darkgrate Hi! I remember seeing you around here, though I don’t believe we’ve ever directly spoken – er – posted to each other before. 😉 You know @dekreel don’t you?
(I have successfully posted a GIF…once…)
Anyway, welcome back to KP. 🙂

@jenwriter17 @seekjustice @valtmy @dekreel I’m back. Is anyone here tonight?

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #20 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 2 months ago
@jenwriter17 I’ll probably be on again around 10:30 or 11:00 EST.
I’m currently humming the theme song of the Dick Van Dyke show in my head, though. 😉

@seekjustice Cool! Well, if you get a chance to read the full Viking Quest series, let me know what you think, because I absolutely love that series! 😉

@seekjustice There are five books in the Viking Quest series.
There are seven more books in the Young Underground series, following A Way Across the Sea, and then there is a series set a few years later which is not really connected except a couple of the characters leech over to make “cameo” appearances. 😉
Aw, too bad. 🙁 Well, when you come…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m back. 😀
Okay, modern his-fics first:
Have you read the Viking Quest series by Lois Walfrid Johnson? Those have a good deal of romance, but I would say about the level there is in your Infinity series, so not too bad, and they’re definitely his-fics and not romance novels. If you’ve read those (or even if you haven’t) you s…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m partway through the list, but I’ve got to go. I’ll probably be back in about an hour, and I’ll send it your way then.
Will you be on later?
Bye for now!

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #20 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 2 months ago
@seekjustice My list is in progress, but just a quick question: What do you mean by modern his-fics? Ones that were written recently, but don’t focus mainly on romance to the exclusion of any and all historical accuracy? 😛 (I kind of remember having this conversation with you, but it was a while ago, right?)
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #20 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 2 months ago
@seekjustice Hm, that doesn’t sound good. 😛
I was supposed to give you a list of his-fics with heroines who aren’t rich and snobby, wasn’t I? Would that make the day go better? 😉
