This might be totally wild and not right, but what about a Kapeefer civil war? Like, one side isn’t necessarily “bad;” it would be more like a capture the flag sort of thing. Like they’re competing for something…maybe to see who will get special sword-fighting lessons from King Daeus? 😉

I think you’re going to find your answer by looking at the ending. What’s the plot resolution? What is the character resolution? What does your character learn at the end?
