@ariella-newheart By that last one I mean that if you’ve spent time developing this one character only to find that they’ll not be so important after all, you can actually use the work you’ve put into developing the character to make them as real as possible when your MC does bump into them. Small details, however trivial they might seem, serve to…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart I’m terribly late. *facepalm*
I’m the dragon that wrote the Legend of King Daeus that @claire-c and @dekreel were talking about. 😛
(And Claire-c, as for the Aberdeen question, I’ll see if I can, but these are not the easiest stories to write. XD)
So… Ariella, what do you like to write?

@catwing Oh, IÂ remember the war!
Well, at least that there was going to be a war. 😀
Do you remember my time travel book at all, or has it been too long? (It’s okay if you don’t, I’m just wondering.)
I’m here working on my western! @ariella-newheart Hi!

@ariella-newheart I do mostly fantasy too. This is fantasy (in my opinion) cause I’m making up the natives and their culture, beliefs, values, etc.. But, yes, this is more real world. The spiritual realm is the same as ours. And the natives do have witchcraft. But I am going to show that it is wrong, don’t worry. That is why the missionaries have…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart Indeed it is.
Basically a missionary family flies to an island where the natives are a bit Roman-ish. I did base them off the Romans a bit. They don’t speak the same language and there’s a war starting. I plan on it being mostly from the natives POV, but also some from one of the missionaries teens, Vanessa -

@ariella-newheart you’re welcome. But I have to do something With the rock.
So… You’re a prankster?
Perhaps the last rock is The Rock (as from my story?) and it escapes sometimes? -

@Ariella-newheart Oh yes, I have a whole book from Creation Ministries about how dinosaurs could have inspired dragons, and I’m obsessed with dragons and dinosaurs, so it was really interesting.
Oh, and the weather is very cosy thank you. Perfect for curling up in the green grass and
smoking a pipeÂand reading a book and “good-morning-ing” Ga…[Read more] -

@ariella-newheart Looks like you’ve already gotten quite bit of advice, but I would say that probably, 30 characters is too many.
That’s not to say it can’t be done- if the story is an expansive epic, it certainly can, but 30 is a lot for readers to try to keep track of.
It also depends on how much time these characters get- if they’re mostly…[Read more]

@jessi-rae Thank you.
@alia I have been waiting from the beginning to have the frog part! I was surprised no one had done it yet. I had even suggested it once, but some how I was overlooked and I couldn’t wait. And that’s why…[Read more] -

@ariella-newheart Looks like you have a lot of good advice here 🙂 I always have a lot of characters too, so I’ve thought about this a lot. I think it depends partly on the length of the series. Thirty characters is probably not too many as long as they have page space for development and are in varying levels of importance. Putting them in groups…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart you’ve got some good advice from the other kapeefers.:)
personally, I think 30 characters might be a lot for a reader to keep straight in their mind, even if it is a series and stretched out over multiple books. maybe see if any characters could be combined.
on K. M. Weiland’s website, she has a couple posts about this.…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart 30 characters may not be too many for a series. My favorite analogy about this, is imagining myself (the writer) having a pitcher of water. Each character is a glass, and I decide how many glasses there are, and how much water I pour into each glass. In a short story for instance, I won’t have a lot of water, so pouring just a…[Read more]

Cool! I like to draw too 😀 Also mostly pencil, though watercolors and markers are pretty cool.
I actually wondered if you drew your profile picture. It looks cool! Is it supposed to be one of your characters? Or just a random lady. (I draw a lot of random ladies 🙂 .. )Sewing is pretty cool too! I don’t sew but I think it…[Read more]
