@Radically-surrendered, yeah I can get that. Writing definitely doesn’t need to be your favorite. In my opinion, at least! Though piano is more of a hobby for me. I enjoy it, but writing….way surpasses it!

@Bella D. So good to see you on here! I’m guessing there will be at least a handful of people on here that I already know, which will be great. 🙂

@skredder thanks so much! Glad to be here.

It was actually Young Writer’s Workshop which got me into writing! Before that, I had loved to write, but had never taken it seriously. I joined last year, and after that I really got into it. And it’s so awesome.

My favorite thing about writing is just being able to express myself well. I’m a total…[Read more]

@livgiordano Howdy, howdy, howdy! Welcome aboard! 😀

What got you into writing? And what’s your favorite thing about writing?

Oh, and my name’s Olivia. But y’all can call me Liv or Livia as well. Any of those work.

@radically-surrendered, I’m also noticing how much you look like someone I know. It’s actually really crazy how similar you look to her.

@Radically-surrendered, thank you so much for the welcome! Yes, I love to sing, though I’m definitely still learning. And I have been playing piano since I was seven. It’s lots of fun. I have always wanted to learn to play the violin, but it has hasn’t happened yet. How about you?

Hey Bella! I’m pretty sure I know you already from YWW. And I’m just joining myself as well!

@jenwriter17

I’m also going to add a few questions at the end of the document for you to answer, if you’d be happy doing that 😀

@sam-kowal I don’t know if it is, but I just group superhero as a subgenre of sci-fi.

@aratrea @that_writer_girl_99 Thank you both! Another blogger I know has read Scythe I think, and she loves it!

@waterlily Hmm, combine them? That’s an idea……

@jane-maree @seekjustice The Reckoners!

*Stan does a happy flail*

I didn’t even think of those as sci-fi, I always considered those superhero-action (if that’s even a real genre. It’s not.) XD

I love those, books, though. I hope someday Brandon writes one more book with David in it, although I don’t think he’s planning on lengthening that…[Read more]

@radically-surrendered  Ohhhh, I LOVE writing to TONS of music. lesse…

• Fresh Aire (electronic music, most of it is very good)
• You, Me & Gravity (Planet Coaster soundtrack. EXCELLENT)
• Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack (your basic LOTR music)
• Touch the Strings by Mark McCain (SO underrated!!)
• Various classical music (especially for…

@jenwriter17 Yess… I’ve been on a bit of a sci-fi kick lately, so here’s what I got in addition to those mentioned.

-Ender’s Game & Speaker for the Dead (the sequel) are my two favorite speculative fiction books of all time. There’s some language in both books, so if that concerns you, you probably want to stay clear of it, but the themes are…[Read more]

@seekjustice @jane-maree thanks, friends!

@jane-maree YES!! *happily flails with you*

Both of them are amazing stories!!

@jenwriter17

Brandon Sanderson also has a series called Reckoners. I recommend them too.

@jenwriter17

I don’t really read much sci-fi, but I just recently read The Giver, by Lois Lowry. It was really enjoyable. H. G. Wells and Jules Verne are always enjoyable and you might like Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles, I enjoy them as well (I’m up to the third book).
