@jenwriter17 Though I did say it first, it isn’t so much about internet access to the Bibles, actually, since we have seen how the internet can be censored easily.  But when you can carry 100 books on a hard drive no bigger than your finger, it would be hard to censor those. 🙂

And burning Bibles would still be a big thing, as there are millions…[Read more]

@waterlily Cool! I’m definitely going to have to check them out now.

@SeekJustice for the most part, the things that were kind of mature in the book weren’t really in the TV series, so that was nice. If you’re wanting to watch it. 🙂

@jenwriter17 Ohh yay, another Chuck Black fan! YES, I love Wars of the Realm! They’re all so awesome, and really…[Read more]

@waterlily  Check out these two articles on @jane-maree‘s blog! They are SO helpful!

What is Theme?

Focusing your Theme

@jenwriter17 Definitely definitely Robot Wars.  @mariposa How dare you beat me at recommending them when I read them at least five years before you did? 🙂

They are really very well-written in every way.  Every time I see that they’re set in 2040 I wonder how much Sigmund Brouwer has correctly predicted – and how soon we’ll find out…

(I do…[Read more]

@rochellaine Thanks for your input! About #3, I plan on setting that in the USA. I’ll have to think more about how the government would combat internet access to Bibles…..

@livgiordano I LOVE Chuck Black’s books too! Have you read his latest trilogy?

That’s so cool you were able to be at your little sister’s birth! I actually know two other people who are into midwifery, one of them is on KP, though her name escapes me.

I always thought doing things with hair was cool too. Sadly, my hair type (3b/3c), is kinda…[Read more]

@Livgiordano

I can imagine that it would be pretty cool too. 🙂 The idea doesn’t have much appeal to me, but it does sound amazing.

I like  when you have the opportunity to talk through things like that. And yes, the way she acted so familiar with both of them (almost led them on, from what I remember of the books ) probably was part of my…[Read more]

@waterlily Definitely what Elizabeth said.

Also, on another note, things like love conquers all” and “revenge leads to destruction” aren’t actually themes, they’re messages. I don’t know if you’ve ever looked into KP’s Theme Mastery course, but one of the things we teach in there is that a theme should never be controversial like “revenge leads…[Read more]

@seekjustice Thank you! Yeah, I actually thought it was pretty cool. *nods* Yeah, the book was a little heavy for me too, but not overly so. If it was just a tad more, I probably would’ve quit. 😉 I’m also not a fan of Christie’s rebellious character, and how she acts very familiar with both David and Neil. But at the same time, we watched these…[Read more]

Okay…*takes a deep breath* *thinks hard* There should be something I can share.

Let everything inspire you:

As a writer, I observe things. Like everything. Whether it be how the the streetlight catches the glimmer of the puddles, or what it feels like to be literally freezing, longing for a warm house to step inside of. It’s amazing how much…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 I like #2 a lot, but I have read a lot of books with the same premise.  That doesn’t actually bother me at all, because I love everything cliche and stereotyped, 🙂 but it might be hard to write it different enough that most readers would like it.  (I would probably like it anyway.)

I also like #3, but an important thing to note m…[Read more]

@livgiordano

You got to be at your little sister’s birth? That’s pretty cool! I’m pretty certain that would have freaked me out.

Anyway! Welcome to Kingdom Pen. Everyone has asked all of the interesting questions so I’ll leave you alone. (I didn’t know there was Christy tv show! Actually, I think I’ve read some of the books based on it though. I…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 Thank you!

@supermonkey42 Thank you! I’m glad it sounds original, and I really hope it is. 😉

@jenwriter17 Thanks for the welcome! I can  tell that I’m really going to love it here. 🙂 I love all of Chuck Black’s books, the Ilyon Chronicles, and Lord of the Rings. My favorite genre is fantasy, though I also really enjoy…[Read more]

@livigiordano Welcome fellow homeschooler! KP is awesome!

What are your favorite books/genres/authors? Do you have other hobbies outside of writing?

@that_writer_girl_99 Okay, thank you!

That was for compiling the ebook. Publishing it to Amazon is also very easy.

@photobloggergal Yes, it’s very easy. Do you have Scrivener? That’s what I used so I could help you the most with that, but it’s also easy to do with Word and some other programs.

@hope and @daeus both have. Hope even created the Kindle version of the Best of 2016 KP eBook we created last year. 🙂

@radically-surrendered, yes, I think he does become a Christian, or close to it in the book. And his wife actually died a long time before Christie came in childbirth. So that whole element isn’t there.

@mariposa Nice to meet both of you! I love making earrings, and I make cards…sometimes. I love to read, and play the piano. And I love doing…[Read more]
