No worries 😀 I understand (except that I don’t really, but I wouldn’t share my job on the internet either 😛 )
Are you on your lunchbreak yet?

Hello! What’s your new job, if you don’t mind me asking?

Maybe you could try looking up things like touch deprivation. I don’t think that’s exactly what you want but it could be helpful.

Ergh, that’s a pity. I’ve only heard mostly good things about it.
Sometimes the internet is super helpful and sometimes its the opposite.
And I don’t forget everything, not the important parts, but often I completely forget the subplots 🙂

It just means I forget books about a week after reading them. 🙂 which means maximum enjoyment in rereading. I’m not so good at forgetting people’s names though, so I will remember that something terrible happens to Ashley. 😉

@seekjustice I’m not sure whether that’s a good or a bad thing… 😛 Does that mean you just don’t remember spoilers people tell you, or does it mean you can’t discuss books after you read them…? 😛
@alia I like to write sci-fi when I don’t have to do much research. 😉 I love researching history, and everyday – or non-everyday – things, but I…[Read more]

Cool! I’ve yet to read Ender’s Game but I’v heard a lot of good things about it.
In that case, I think the situation would be quite traumatic, but they wouldn’t necessarily be isolated. Though they do lack parent and adult figures which could potentially be problematic.

When it comes to spoilers in books I have the memory of a walnut and so by the time I actually get around to reading it I’ll have forgotten 🙂

@seekjustice Oh no! If you read our conversation…wow, that contained MAJOR spoilers!! 😛 Hopefully you can still enjoy the books. 😛

I hadn’t heard of the Mars Diaries before your conversation the other day but I’ll definitely have to look them up now 🙂 they aren’t in the vein of what I usually read, but every now and again its good to read something out of your comfort zone 😀

@seekjustice Haha, yes! 😛 By the way, speaking of Alia’s story, you should definitely read the Mars Diaries by Sigmund Brouwer. Seriously. They’re amazing. 😀
@alia 😉 You like The Princess Bride?
I’m very interested in how you make your new story different from Brouwer’s. I love the premise, because of course I love his books and I lov…[Read more]

No worries. I just rolled with it.
Oh yes! I was stalking the topic the other day and saw that. It sounds pretty cool and reminds me a bit of Ender’s Game.
I definitely think that sort of isolation would be damaging, but maybe not as much as complete isolation. Are they allowed to be friends with each other or do they just exist with each other?

Awesome 😀
I’d do some research, but I’d hazard to guess that the consequences wouldn’t be good. I think it also depends on what sort of isolation it is. Is it isolation from absolutely everyone? Isolation from everyone but one or two select individuals? Isolation from everything except a group (say, a church)?
I think each of those w…[Read more]

That’s pretty much how it is 😛 It reminds me of when I try to explain musical plots to my family.

@seekjustice Oh, oh! I scrolled up a bit and saw the end of your long post to @catwing where you said “to sum up.” Immediately, this flashed into my brain:
