Jenna Terese replied to the topic Writing about the Bible in a Fictional World? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 7 months ago
Well, maybe somehow your fictional world is connected to other worlds, including our reality, so that it sometimes is exposed to the cultures of other worlds? Then that would explain being able to have the Bible with real people and events in your fictional world. Or maybe you make it more of an allegory with characters that…[Read more]

@nova21 First, OH MY GOODNESS your story sounds so interesting! Definitely something I would read! 😀
I really like @gracie-j‘s suggestions… Maybe the dream cut off at an important part and she misses some key information; then in her reality where the vision is repeating itself she won’t have this bit of information the vision cut off. There…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic What do you do when you feel discouraged and feel like giving up? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 7 months ago
@kathleenramm I always hate reading old writing and feeling like I haven’t improved *cries*
To readjust my focus I usually pray but then I also like to remind myself of things like “it’s okay to not be perfect” and things like that XD

Jenna Terese replied to the topic How do you develop your story ideas? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 8 months ago
I always do a lot of brainstorming with a new idea (a.k.a. brain dumping into a journal). I basically just kinda write down whatever little ideas come to mind for the book idea, and when I feel like I have a good amount, I might try to arrange the ideas into plot points. At the same time I work on the characters too, figuring out…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic If you got to be a screen writer for a movie, what type of movie would it be? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 8 months ago
@gracie-j Yep! I would love to write a script for my novel. I should probably finish it first though XD I’ve spent literally hours imagining it as a movie XD Yes, I saw it a couple months ago! I watched it with my family and we didn’t realize it was a Christian movie when we started it XD I was nervous it would be preachy like most Christian m…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Ooh, this is a good question! I’ve tried writing scripts before but they kind of flopped. I still wanna finish one at some point though XD
I think it’d be suuuuper fun to write a screenplay for historical fiction or fantasy (an epic script like LOTR? yes please). And like @gracie-j said, PIRATES. It would be SO MUCH FUN to write a…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic What do you do when you feel discouraged and feel like giving up? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 8 months ago
@kathleenramm When I start feeling discouraged I’ll usually spend some time praying about it and take a short break from writing. I think for me when I’m feeling discouraged it’s usually because I’m comparing myself to other writers or I feel like I’m not working hard enough on my WIP. Usually it’s simply a matter of readjusting my focus.

Wow, this is from a little while ago. 😛 Thanks! I’m glad you like it.
I agree, Kipling’s poems are very good. Now I should go back and read some, since I haven’t read any of his works in a while. 😉 My favorite poet of the droll variety is probably A.A. Milne, though. What do you think of his stuff?
Thank you! …[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic What was your favorite and least favorite thing about the last book you read in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 8 months ago
@kathleenramm I’ve only read two of his superhero sci-fi books and they were all right, but not brilliant. So far, that’s been my impression of Sanderson, all right but not brilliant. I will keep reading though!

SeekJustice replied to the topic If you got to be a screen writer for a movie, what type of movie would it be? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 8 months ago
@kathleenramm Definitely a historical movie! Not so much a period drama (not like in the style of any of the Jane Austen/Jane Eyre/romance movies) but more like a biopic (or those movies that aren’t about real people but kind of have the biopic style), I guess. I’ve always dreamed of making a movie about the Wright Brothers in particular! There’s…[Read more]

Interesting question! The last book I read was The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, which I finished yesterday! I think my favourite thing was how fleshed out the two main characters (Vin and Kelsier) were! I loved reading about them and rooting for them!
My least favourite thing was how long it was. That put me off reading it f…[Read more]

My very first novel was about anthropomorphic otters and was a typical revolution type story. I still have it somewhere and I’ve been desperately looking for the USB that has the story on it for months!

I wish you all the best on your story! It really sounds like God has given you that story for a reason, so I know it’s going to be amazing. <3

@gracie-j I’m so sorry I completely forgot about a post for you! Sadly, between KP articles, work and my studying, I barely have time for my own blog and I’m going to have to back out, if that’s ok. I’d definitely still be up to doing a post swap with you sometime though. Once again, I’m so sorry! I have this awful habit of taking on way too much…[Read more]
