@aislinn-mollisong I chose Kerry because one of the meanings of that name is dark-haired. She has black hair. And I chose Dagny because it means New Day. I thought that was a good choice for someone who is starting their life over from the very beginning.

@aislinn-mollisong 🙂 Great. I think making challenges for the dragons as characters could be an important thing in general. Also, building off of @skredder ‘s idea, what if the dragons had to stay in hiding the whole trip? Sort of the same as being forbidden, I just thought I could add that maybe almost everywhere Amber and Brendan travel, the…[Read more]

Hi, everyone!
I’m looking for input on character consistency. In every story (long or short) that I write, I like to have a character who’s generally optimistic and lighthearted, and who sometimes even provides the comic relief. However, a lot of my story plots tend to get more and more intense as they go. Does anybody have any advice for keeping…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong An idea struck me last night. What if there was a place, maybe a baron’s land or something similar, where dragons are forbidden?

GUUUUUUUUUYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSS!
*cough*
Sorry. Too enthusiastic there.
Guess what.
I finished another book!
YES! The sequel to Sector One is finally done. The name is SECTOR ONE: THE DRAGON MAST. And it is 96209 words, the longest book I have ever written.
Three books.
I have now written three books.
And now I’m so excited!
Because…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong
I have the perfect solution to your problem…
Just make all your dragons about as powerful as Stan. And then… they won’t be able to power past obstacles as well. No flying, fire, anything.
XD
Barring that, let me think.
You said that the dragons are characters of their own with their own missions and personalities. That…[Read more] -

@aislinn-mollisong What if there is an errand or something that Amber and Brendan must do, but it’s incredibly far away or in a place that is not easily accessible by humans? Teine and Terran could complete that task while Amber and Brendan continue their way.

@aislinn-mollisong Hmmmm…
I agree with Ben and N.C..
If they were summoned on the journey, maybe whoever summoned them could tell them to leave the dragons behind, at least, to an extent. And if they weren’t summoned…
Have them get inadvertently separated from the dragons. Like maybe when they’re trying to escape the rockslide, or w…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong Sounds like you’ve got a why-didn’t-they-use-the-eagles-to-get-to-Mount-Doom conundrum here. 😉
Maybe try dialing down the power of the dragons. If they’re powerful enough to stop all of the catastrophes, they might be too powerful. What would happen of you made them smaller? Weaker? What if they needed something to get their…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong Hmm…
Here are some random ideas that may or may not make sense in your story:
- The dragons get wounded in some sort of battle and have to recover
- Amber and Brendan need to sneak in somewhere silently and dragons would alert everyone to their presence
- The MCs go somewhere (a cave or something?) where Teine and Terran…

@that_writer_girl_99Â Let’s see……
How to Get Inspired to Write when you’re Stuck:
- Take notes. That’s the left-brained thing to do. I would take notes on the plotline and the characters’ motivations to let yourself know how exactly things are going to turn out for them, and how they react.
- Listen to…
