@anna-brie
Great topic, Anna! Thanks for bringing it up. 🙂 I absolutely love making up character names and learning the meanings behind the names!
I think a villain’s name usually contains hard sounds (as @ingridrd said). I don’t know if that’s because it makes the villains sound harsher and harder or for some other reason, but it seems that…[Read more] -

What indicates ‘villain’ or ‘badguy’ for me is ‘r’.
I will use some examples here from Tolkien: Mordor, Sauron, Saruman, Orcs, Trolls, Ring Wraiths. All of these have the ‘r’ in them that you can just roll around on your tongue and make is sound really badguyish. -

@sarah-h I found out from the “where do you live” topic and when it is 11pm in Arizona it is 4pm here. (Just the next day) 🙂 So that will suit me fine on some days. I would probably only be able to write for 45 minutes, as we have tea (supper, I think Americans call it) at 5pm.
I don’t mind if you tag me when you want to write and I’ll let you…[Read more] -

Comics as in how, @Alia? You mean caricatures/drawings/strips that tell stories? I have absolutely no problem with comics. I love them, if done right. But though I’m an artist, I have zero knack for caricatures. 😛 More’s the pity. I love making people laugh.

@Daeus Seeking comfort by trying to comfort someone else, that is so true. With sorrow, probably, but especially with fear. If a girl is afraid, she’ll try to find someone more afraid to comfort, or someone who needs help to help, in an effort to control her own emotions.

@daeus Thanks! That is very helpful…I’m fascinated by both the mental and physical side. So, about the physical side…I’m assuming it would be more natural to come from other men? Or would other men be less likely to think of a hug than a mother or sister? And while it’s natural for a mother or sister to hug someone who is suffering, what if it…[Read more]

Orrr Caramin looks cool…especially is someone could trill the ‘r’s out. I envision a world on the more solid, slightly epic side. The only thing that gives me pause is that Caramin sounds like Carman, which is the name of a Christian singer.

And Luke could count as one as well. In addition to that, they are all pilots. So the three first episodes of the three Star Wars trilogies tie in together…oy. Episode 1: the Phantom Menace Episode 4: A New Hope and Episode 7: the Force Awakens. -

@his-instrument It would be repetitive, yes, but think about all the things that are laterals to the A New Hope as well. Poor MC on desert planet helps people who are on the run from oppressive government. The old guy dies. The MC from desert planet learns to use the force. I mean really, it seems like they took the first script and switched it…[Read more]
