@dragon-snapper @winter-rose @jess I’m still going too.
@daeus Well done. I don’t know how many words I got since I’ve been editing. And still going. -

@daeus Well done. It’s all for writing Daeus, even if it’s not writing. -

@Daeus @Dragon-Snapper I think it would be better for just avoiding any confusion if those similes weren’t used at all. I know one can’t always (nor should necessarily always) avoid everything that could potentially be confusing, but it would perhaps be better to just use different similes.
I don’t think it’s wrong to use them though, as far as…[Read more] -

@Leumeister that’s pretty cool… I haven’t done any animation though. Just artwork; digital painting. Also some book cover design. 😉 Comes in handy when one is a writer, don’t you think? 😀

@daeus I worked on a character map and wrote half of a notebook page description of a certain setting or another. Mostly, I was actually on the course-language topic. Woops. 😛 And good job! Glad its coming back!
@jess @bluejay I’m still going for a bit. I need to get something productive done, like plot… -

@Dragon-Snapper good point, but may I point out that they’re not talking about swearing. They’re talking about similes. Likening something to heaven or to hell, not saying ‘by heaven’ or ‘by hell’.
Yeah. 😀

@kate-flournoy That is true. I suppose that one would say about a favorite desert, “This is heavenly,” that makes sense. Then it just goes back to Romans 14.
About what @winter-rose said. Yes, we need to be careful; and this too, we need to be sensitive to whom our audience is. Children don’t need their heads in that stuff. Teens don’t need to be…[Read more] -

In which case, by the way, I would also tend to agree with @Winter-Rose.

On similes using heaven and hell, I think its ok sparingly. The reason I say sparingly is because you don’t want to trivialize heaven and hell into a byword.
Here I must disagree with you, though I’m glad you agreed with me first off.

3. It doesn’t glorify God. In my opinion, as Christian writers and putting that seems like we show that we don’t mind it. Do not be conformed to this world. I’m not saying that you/we are if we use it, but God very clearly does not want us to use that in any instance. Yes, characters make mistakes, but it leaves me, personally, going away with…[Read more]

@daeus I have come to the conclusion that I need trained sea creatures including a Barracuda, swordfish, sea horse, a mermaid and a merman.
Wow! I have destroying an hair style I had in my hair as I am editing. You’ve picked up on some (lots) of great points. And they’re making me think. Last night I was editing, and I suddenly stood up and acted…[Read more] - Load More

Ha! That’s great, Tessa. Editing will never be boring, huh?
Absolutely. @daeus Do you want it back when I’ve finished or are you sick of it?
No, I’m not sick of it, but I’m fairly busy for a while, so I don’t think I could fit in a second run.
@daeus No worries. 🙂
