As a matter of fact ladies and gents, would you mind praying also for our oldest sister Elizabeth and I too for the church song—we’re accompanying Kate with piano and violin, and though the pressure for us isn’t nearly as high as for her I still get extreeeemely nervous on stage. Shaking hands and all that aren’t the best when you’re trying to…[Read more]

@Rolena-Hatfield Can I ask just how y’all come up with those prompts? I’ve heard some of the ones Kate’s been doing the graphics for, and they’re incredible! How do you think of them?

I just read Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis, guys (@GabrielleMassman 🙂 )—it’s really good. (I’m probably too late @Daeus but it’s on the shorter side. A little more than 300 pages.)
Its strength is mainly in the theme (and the foil characters for the MC are amazingly done), but there’s pretty good characterization too and it’s overall…[Read more] -

@Kayla-Joy hello! Welcome to KP, the bestistest place on the internet. 😉
While I haven’t written either dystopian or scifi (yet— I have a scifi/steampunk in the works 😉 ) I’d be willing to help all I can. Messaging here is just fine with me, that way others can chime in with their ideas and we can all have a huge brainstorming party. 😀

Okay… maybe not. 😉 *ahem* The fact of the matter is, I need your help on behalf of the KP staff. We’re working on a project and we want all you wonderful people to be involved. @Rolena-Hatfield and I are putting together…[Read more] -

@aratrea Can I post a character arc for each lesson, or should I just stick to the character I’ve been working on so far?

Hope Ann replied to the topic ARCHIVED – Discussion for Video Six: Positive Character Arc in the forum Discussion Questions 9 years, 7 months ago
@aratrea My answer is similar to my last one as well. One thing I have noticed in my own life is that it takes repetition. It takes a series of events to change; there isn’t generally one event and then I accept whatever the change might be wholeheartedly. The same is true with characters. There will be events that make them doubt, and then each…[Read more]

@ClaireC Was It A Morning Like This?’… not sure who wrote it, but it was sung by a singer named Sandi Patti and it’s my grandma’s favorite. 😉
And sure, I’ll pray for you. 🙂
Thanks for praying @Ethryndal and @Sarah-H. I’ll let you know how it goes when we get there. 😉

@Christi-Eaton How’s your production of Les Mis going? I can’t remember exactly when you said you’d be playing it…but are you having a good time? It must be lots of fun. 😀

Emma Flournoy replied to the topic Anouncement in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 7 months ago
@Daeus Me!!
So we read it, and then when you publish it you want reviews—you’re not looking for suggestions, correct? Just a review for other potential readers. That’s gotta be so exciting. Will you be publishing it just as an e-book right now, and are you self publishing?
Okay, I’ll hop over and contact you from your blog.

@daeus Yes, something like that. The second half of the disillusionment arc is really the first part of her positive arc (because who would ever decide to start simple when branching from a single book to a trilogy *glares at self*). And yes, her trying to save everyone is an outward manifestation of what she is working through inwardly.

Aww, thanks for thinking about me Emma! It’s starting to get hectic. We have our first show this Thursday night then one on Friday and two shows on Saturday! I’m going to be at the theater all week rehearsing, so please pray for me and the rest of the cast. It sure is exhausting, but it is a ton of fun. 🙂
W.o.w.
I’ll sure be praying!
Hey @Christi-Eaton, I hope they went amazingly! I wonder how you won’t all be hoarse after so many times in a row. 😛
They all went really well! Despite having a cold myself everything went really well! Thank you for your prayers and support. I wish you could have been able to see it. My mom did tag me in some pictures on Facebook so you should have Kate show you. 🙂
Yay!! Congrats for managing it with a cold…*shudder* Hope you get better soon.
Aw, I wish I could’ve seen it too! I would so, SO like to see a performance of that sometime.
I had Kate show me the pictures… 🙂

So the musical is good in its own way, even for someone who loves the book…I know it’s not entirely accurate to the book though I haven’t seen it. But I’m happy to know it’s possible for someone who loves the book to love the musical too, even though it’s different. I wouldn’t want to dislike the musical if I…[Read more]
The musical is fantastic. I just accept the differences and move on, that’s what I usually do with book-to-movie things. Funny story, the entire cast would just keep singing the songs backstage the entire time, it was fun. Thank you Emma. God knows I need a good week 🙂 My life has been very stress-filled lately. I hope yours is wonderful as well.
I’ll keep praying for you. 🙂
