@0-0enyali0-0 Coolio. 😄😄 I felt like it was the best way for my story to go, but yeah, I was worried about the young’uns, so glad to hear your opinion! 😉
Boy, I’m putting my character in an thrillingly awful emotional spot…I’ll probably cry writing the scene with the Scarlet Man… 😔 😣😭

@0-0enyali0-0 I must ask your opinion on this. In my role-play, SPOILER ALERT 🚨🚨🚨Â
I planned to have my family die🚨🚨🚨SPOILER ALERT OVER as an indirect result of my foolish and rebellious decisions…it’s emotionally quite powerful and would lead to an awesome scene with the Scarlet Man, but…would that be too disturbing? It’s pretty drastic…[Read more] -

@dekreel Ok, I’m here! The Snowmoors is mostly pretty flat, with lots of ice, although there are a lot of rock outcroppings. You’ll find snow cobras, snow scorpions, and snow crocodiles there. And I have no clue what’s west of the Snowmoors—that’s up to you, I guess. 😉 (I’ve never been to the mountains.)
And I think @0-0enyali0-0 explained i…[Read more]

@0-0enyali0-0 you might not have ever been in a battle before, but you’ve been scared before, haven’t you? You have probably been in a situation that made you tense and anxious. Fear is fear, no matter what causes it, and you’ve felt fear, so you’re just as qualified to write about it as anyone else. 😀

@dekreel Sorry, I haven’t been on here in a while! (Thanksgiving, LoTR marathon, and all that 😏😏)
Here’s a map of Aethasia with some places labeled for your reference. 😉

@0-0enyali0-0 As Dekreel said, focus on the characters rather than the fight and that’ll make the scene that much better.
I can’t recommend research enough. Learn as much as you possibly can about the method of fighting that you’re using. The more you know, the easier the fight scenes will become to write.

@0-0enyali0-0 @dekreel‘s advice is very solid. Maybe if you have a fight scene that isn’t too long you could post it here for critique.

@0-0enyali0-0Â Oooh! That’s a good question! Others might have better answers than me, but let me try…
So it sounds to me like you’re describing every detail of what’s going on in the battle by itself. That tends to sound like a school lecture if you describe a dramatic scene from the outside without looking at how the characters are feeling…[Read more]

Wait, tell me more about writing mysteries. I’ve only written one, but how did you do it? I’m curious.

@0-0enyali0-0 Those are great motivations to have as a writer. 🙂 Huh–that’s interesting. Didn’t know there was a market out there for Christian steampunk games, but that’s pretty cool!
