You know you are a writer when you’re at a discussion group for a teen Christian conference and one of the people says “well… one of my aspirations would be to do something with my writing” and your interest level doubles in a split second.
It's g-h, 2-4-6-8 twice, three 9's
literatureforthelight.wordpress.comApril 1, 2018 at 11:39 pm #69778You know you’re a writer when you not only yell out clichés when you see them in movies, you’ve got your family doing it too.
Sibling: There’s the strong female character!
Me: *bursts with pride* And a mentor character. He’s so gonna die.

April 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm #69782You know you’re a writer when you have this conversation:
Me to MC: Alright, I know it’s a tall order, but you’re going to have to defeat a witch, reunite a kingdom, save multiple lives, and have a character arc somewhere in there too. And speaking of character arcs, there are like four more minor arcs to add to the mix. No problem, just a little more complicated and perilous. *nervous laughter* You’ve also got to navigate the story world! Also no problem, just work with the rules I’ve set up. No, you’re not allowed to change them, silly. *shakes head* Maybe a little bit, if I paint myself into a corner with my own rules. Just not all the time, ok? Anyhoo, have fun, and don’t fail miserably. Good luck!
Me: I don’t know if I’m talking to my MC or myself.

You know you are a writer when you find the perfect way to describe this shade of red in a craft you just made.

literatureforthelight.wordpress.comApril 6, 2018 at 1:13 pm #70198You know you’re a writer when a conversation with your family goes like this (after watching a well-written show):
My brothers: “I love this show! It’s so cool!”
Me: “Yes, the backstory is really awesome and their story/character arcs are very good. So is the character development. The writers of this show did a good job with the plot.”
My brothers: *rolls eyes*

You know you’re a writer when you google things like “beef cattle after the Civil War” and “what would happen if the magnetic field was stronger”. I may or may not have googled those things.

www.jennaterese.comApril 6, 2018 at 6:21 pm #70240@jenwriter17 Ha! Yup, well at least those google searches weren’t for the same WIP…
Hey! The show you were watching doesn’t happen to be A Series of Unfortunate Events does it?

http://www.encircledbygrace.com/April 6, 2018 at 6:55 pm #70247@kaya-young Wait, a show I was watching when? Anyway, I’ve never seen A Series of Unfortunate Events. If I was talking about a show, it was most likely Andy Griffith. 🙂

www.jennaterese.comApril 6, 2018 at 11:02 pm #70297@jenwriter17 I meant the show you were talking about on your “you know you’re a writer when” post. 🙂
Andy Griffith is the best!
Also congrats on winning this month’s prompt!

http://www.encircledbygrace.com/April 7, 2018 at 11:21 am #70307@kaya-young oh, yeah, sorry, hehe……:P It was My Hero Academia, an anime. I will say though that my older brother edited it before he let us kids watch it. But it is really good 🙂
Aw, thank you! I was so surprised! 😀

April 13, 2018 at 4:32 pm #70774You know you’re a writer when you could easily win a game show where all the questions are morbid/obscure/weird.
How much would your spleen go for on the black market?
Me: *raises hand*
How do you escape a straight jacket?
Me: *raises hand*
Name a 19th century belief about mermaids.

If you were being attacked by velociraptors, what should you do?

April 13, 2018 at 8:10 pm #70794@daughteroftheking What are the answers? Tell me! 😀
(Though I think you have to dislocate your shoulder to get out of the street jacket. Right?)IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
April 13, 2018 at 8:49 pm #70801@catwing A spleen is worth about 500$. To get out of a straight jacket, you have to somehow get your arm over your head. (Don’t think I’m flexible enough to do that. Hopefully I won’t find myself in a straight jacket any time soon. 😛 ) Some fishermen in the 19th century claimed to have caught mermaids in their nets. And if you’re attacked by velociraptor, pull out a communicator and get yourself teleported out of there as fast as possible. 😉
