Hi! I know there’s already a topic for Writing Resources but it was more for software than ways to train as a writer.
What are some websites, courses, books, YouTube channels, etc that have helped you grow as a writer?
Christian Writing Websites:
-Story Embers
-Rabbit Room
-Hope*WritersAnd a more general, mostly freelance website I found was
-The Write LifeBooks:
-Adorning the Dark by Andrew Peterson. Its more about creativity in general but I absolutely LOVE IT! Sometimes hearing about the technical side and how-to-write books can all start sounding the same BUT THIS really got to the heart of a Christian creator. Totally recommend.January 18, 2021 at 12:03 pm #89306I have a page with a bunch of resources on my second blog here. 🙂

www.jennaterese.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 12:13 pm #89316The Young Writers Workshop has helped me A TON in my writing. It’s kind of expensive (same price as hope*writers, I believe) but it was totally worth it in my opinion. K. M. Weiland’s blog is also really helpful. 🙂

aldarley.wordpress.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 3:17 pm #89370Go Teen Writers is a really great blog with a lot of helpful writing advice! And for YouTube channels iWriterly and Reedsy are some videos I’ll sometimes watch. And for books I’ve started reading Teen Writers’ Guide: Your Road Map for Writing by Jennifer Jenkins. I haven’t gotten very far in it but so far it’s been very awesome!!!! (Also, since we’re talking about writing websites I’m gonna add in a friend of mine’s blog wildwritingdreams.wordpress.com which has sUPER GREAT writing tips and my own blog Teen Writers’ Nook!)

Apps:
WerdSmith

Grammarly
Courses:
Hillsdale College is Christian and has free online courses on many subjects, including literature, history, etc.
Udemy has courses for just about everything imaginable, they do cost money, but there are tons of sales on them and usually won’t cost much.
Books:
No Plot? No problem!
Ready. Set. Novel!
(When I remember the others, I’ll post their titles)

January 18, 2021 at 5:38 pm #89395@epicaddie2, are you currently on Ydubs?

ekseaver.wordpress.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 5:42 pm #89397@e-k-seaver Unfortunately not, but I do intend on rejoining! I was on it for about two years until around April of last year when I decided to take a break because it was becoming a bit distracting. I still talk to lots of Ydubbers though because they’re all like my best friends XD Are you on Ydubs?

aldarley.wordpress.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 5:44 pm #89398Also, I second @abigail-m and her suggestion of Hillsdale’s online courses. THEY ARE AMAZING. I’ve already gone through a few (the Genesis one is incredible!!) and I’ve even been able to get some high school credit for it.

aldarley.wordpress.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 5:47 pm #89400@epicaddie2, nope, I was on there between Feb-April 2019. But yes, I keep in contact with a lot of people back on there too who I consider my closest friends.
