@sarafini Well, you could either rewrite the second book, just like you did the first, or (if you’re aware that the first book needs rewriting) just keep in mind what you might change in the first. I guess it depends on the situation.

Your second book might be better written than the first by nature, so you could write it the way you want it, and remodel the first after it.

      Wow, I’m mixed up 😂

Ok I see now. 😀 Are you a planning type of writer? Because you could just plan out your second book, then decide if the rewrite for the first one is necessary.

I’m a pantster. I cannot get into plotting for some reason. I try and I do it for 2 days and then I’m done. 🤷‍♀️

I’m both. It depends which side of the bed I wake up on. 😀

But I’m sure you write some kind of notes or something…even if it’s not official plotting, you could still write up a quick outline of the major events and then if the first book doesn’t fit with where you’re steering the second book, you could rewrite it.

I hope that made sense, I’m tired. 😂

I plot out character arcs with the three-act story structure, and leave the actual external events to be pantsed. ‘Cause I’m a plantser and proud of it. The sense of wonder doesn’t disappear, but you have an idea of where the story’s going.
