@smiley Doesn’t everyone know that by now tho??? XD

I do understand. idk what it is…I write guys better than girls. Like, i don’t even know XD It makes no sense, especially when most of the people I know and hang out with the most are girls 😂

let me just say that you want to make sure that their brokenness isn’t their only quality or even their main quality.

what I have noticed is that many Broken Bois are some of the kindest characters in books, even if they don’t trust easily and have a lot of baggage they carry (think of my charrie Riker Schind and Marvel’s Bucky Barnes). They have a tendency to watch out for others, wanting to protect them from what they went through. They often try to control their situations and often go alone, too afraid to let others in, but when they love someone, they really show it, and will do almost anything to protect the people they love.

It gets easier to write them with practice, but what I can give tips on is this (and it all depends on Marek’s personality and all, keep that in mind):

      1. Show the whole side of them. Just because they’re broken doesn’t mean that there’s nothing about them that isn’t whole. For Riker, that showed when he was with his wife, being gentle with her and even flirting with her, or when he jokes around with and plays around with Jezyk. And Bucky…well, you’ve seen Bucky XD Even though they’re broken, they’re not ALWAYS focused on their brokenness, and when they’re in a happy mood, they can be very happy people, at least in that moment…it’s not like they’re always focused on what’s wrong (although if Marek is pessimistic, he could have LESS moments of being happy, funny, etc.)
      2. Show their uneasiness. Since they are broken, that can only mean that something or someone broke them in their past. Especially if Marek has PTSD (like both Riker and Bucky), there will be specific things that make him tense, make his heartrate faster, make him feel unsafe, etc. For Riker, he gets uneasy when someone talks about fathers in general, when he hears yelling, when he smells alcohol, things like that. And Bucky seems to gets uneasy when people talk about things he’s done in the past (like when Leah talked about Nakajima’s son that Bucky killed as the Winter Soldier)

I could probably talk some more, but there’s something to start with XD

I’m not perfect at this, but there’s just some tips that relate to what I’ve used with my own writing 😊 feel free to ask me to clarify if you need to <3 always here to help!

That’s something I’ve noticed about a lot of girl writers is that they can write really good boys but struggle with girls, where I’m the complete opposite

But we all have our weaknesses and strengths

let me just say that you want to make sure that their brokenness isn’t their only quality or even their main quality.

I totally used to do this when I started writing, I gave them all the angst and none of the sweetness

what I have noticed is that many Broken Bois are some of the kindest characters in books, even if they don’t trust easily and have a lot of baggage they carry (think of my charrie Riker Schind and Marvel’s Bucky Barnes). They have a tendency to watch out for others, wanting to protect them from what they went through. Not going to lie that’s one thing I love about Bucky, Riker, and Pietro (he’s not always the kindest but he’s very protective of his sister) It’s literally the sweetest quality ever

*Me totally fangirling about all of these fictional characters*

For Riker, that showed when he was with his wife, being gentle with her and even flirting with her, or when he jokes around with and plays around with Jezyk.

I am trying to come up with a person he befriends in France, oooooohhh maybe a German spy (Like they’re a spy with the Allies, not the nazis)

(although if Marek is pessimistic, he could have LESS moments of being happy, funny, etc.)

He’s a realist but not a pessimist and usually looks more on the bright side, much to Lena and Eleanor’s annoyance (They both lean more toward pessimism and the cup half empty)

Since they are broken, that can only mean that something or someone broke them in their past. Especially if Marek has PTSD (like both Riker and Bucky), there will be specific things that make him tense, make his heartrate faster, make him feel unsafe, etc.

*Ponders* for one loud noise, and whenever Germany bombs France or bullets are shot it takes him back to that time, and also whenever people talk about the soldiers lost

He basically blames himself for not being able to save any of the men who helped him *Cries for him*

Thank you!!!!!!! You gave me so much to think about

@euodia-vision @smiley @mineralizedwritings and @hybridlore (thought y’all would also wanna see this) Idk if I’ll even do NANOWRIMO at all, but considering I don’t know much about Conrad and them much yet…I may do a different WIP idea for NANOWRIMO…hehe…

and I’m thinking about possibly doing Against All Odds for it (probably won’t get the whole book written, but want to just motivate myself to write it XD) and thus, I had to make new aesthetics for all of the Bois!!! (i shared Reuben’s previously but I’ll post it again😂)

Anywhooo, first up, MC #1: Leo Noam Baumann (my fav, of course XD)

Okay so I’ve heard a little but of all these characters but I really don’t know them too well

And for some reason Jakobhaa peaked my curiosity so please tell me all about him and his brothers

@smiley Ahh, now where do I start with the Bois?? XD

Alright, I’ll start with giving their general backstory, then I’ll go into more depth about Jakob 😊

So it all starts with Felix and Adinah Baumann, a rich couple (Felix by inheritance; Adinah only by her marriage to Felix) in Germany. Felix was German, and Adinah was Jewish, but it never seemed to matter to them for many years.

Together, the couple had Leo, Joshua, Jakob, Reuben, and Wolfgang, all five of their precious sons, and, especially to their young children, all seemed well.

But the rise of the ideals of Nazism was truly beginning, and Felix divorced Adinah, no longer wanting to be married to a “filthy” Jew.

He didn’t let Adinah take his sons, and Adinah had to leave her five precious gifts from heaven, a regret she still holds to this day.

Felix remarried, this time to a German woman, Frida, a widow with two sons, Adolphus and Dietrich, from her previous marriage.

Together, Felix and Frida had two girls, the only daughters of the Baumann family.

And Frida…well, there’s a reason I call her Evil Lady. A vain, manipulative, and abusive woman, she subjected all 5 of the Bois to her cruel abuse (along with her own 2 sons, but she didn’t abuse them as much), mostly in her hatred of them being Jews and just the fact that she hated that they were from Felix’s previous marriage.

Felix was also abusive, mostly due to alcoholism, and the Bois have been left with physical and mental scars to prove it (especially Leo and Reuben).

And Jakob, as the middle of the Bois, hates everything their father and their stepmother has done.

He hates them for abusing him.

He hates them for abusing his brothers.

He hates them for never loving them like they should have.

He hates them for taking away his happiness.

A festering hatred against both Felix and Frida boils inside of him, and he believes that it will not be satisfied until he sees their lives end.

He wants them to beg and receive no mercy, same as they refused to give him and his brothers mercy.

                        He wants them to die.

Even if it’s by his own hands.

(but don’t get me wrong, Jakob can be very sweet too. He loves reading (like all of the Bois do) and will cherish and protect the people he loves most. A little overprotective at times, maybe, but Jakob can also be flirtatious, extremely loyal, and a bit of a rebellious, bad boy type at times. (he even catches the eye of and marries Angelina, the younger sister of Riker Schind.) All in all a loyal brother and a protective man in general, Jakob will never let the people he loves most go into anything alone)

Character Arc has to do with forgiveness, as is probably obvious by now 😅

anywho, that’s Jakob! Anything more you wanna know? <3

Okay so not going to lie, I may or may not laughed here, because we went from the want to murder to the fact that he’s all really sweet and it just (it’s very tragic but still there was a part of amusement there)

Okay wait, I feel like I’ve read some scenes and their younger sisters always acted spoiled in the scenes

                            Don’t worry, I understand XD

                            it’s such a contradiction

                            Yep, exactly.😅

Annalise and Steffi are very spoiled and are basically their parents’ favorite kids, heh

(Steffi isn’t a jerk later in life tho…some things help mold her into a very kind young woman and she ends up marrying an American soldier) 🥰

                              it’s such a contradiction

But honestly, that’s such a good thing

(and since we use Marvel examples so much, here’s mine.) like how Wanda & Pietro want revenge on the Avenger (mostly Tony) but we also see in the deleted scene (why they had to delete them I don’t know) that they really do care for people

so while some characters are angry and hate everyone others really only want revenge on a few people

I knowwwwww, i love all of the bois so much💕😭

I do too!! They sound sweet and broken and just perfection

Annalise and Steffi are very spoiled and are basically their parents’ favorite kids, heh

Okay that makes sense, kind of Cinderella vibes here *gasps* this whole story honestly gives me Cinderella vibes

evil stepmother comes in, spoils the two daughters and the boys represent Cinderella

                              and so on

Also I’m really struggling to start my book (yes it’s going to be a book now) because I’m doing four different POVs

I know it’s a lot, but I’ve done it before and there’s really no other way to do it

but I don’t know what POV to start with, and if I’ll will just skip through time instead of doing a really long Proluege, like starting with Marek going off to fight in the first few chapters and then skipping to a year later in the rest of the chapters

                                What do you guys think?
