Well, I’m glad to find someone who does agree. It’s a lonely stance
I don’t think anyone disagrees with you about a woman’s design. :] Unless you’re talking about whether they should fight or not

December 18, 2024 at 6:05 pm #192337I’m referring to the women in battle thing.
Man is born for the fight, to be forged and molded into a sharper, finer, stronger image of God
December 18, 2024 at 7:32 pm #192340You probably still have enough company within that stance. (:
I mean for me it’s a very case-by-case thing. Like if a woman took an important mission with a bunch of men, knowing she’s the weak link, and potentially putting their lives at greater risk, then that’s wrong. Whereas if she’s the most capable in a scenario, yeah, I’m putting my trust in her and not in an inexperienced leader.

I asked the question of what my family thought about women in combat around the dinner table tonight. There were a lot of things brought up that I hadn’t even thought of. Here are some of the insights from my parents:
- It’s not fair to the other side to have women on the front lines. Historically, women have been used as human shields because it is immoral to kill a woman, even in war, and this deterred enemy soldiers from shooting.
- Women are much more vulnerable if they are taken prisoner. POWs are often subject to torture. Assault has more consequences. (Think pregnancy. As a POW. Eek.)
- My Dad was in the navy, and he told me that some of the women he knew were jacked. They were very strong. The problem he had was that, at least when he was in the navy, there were different strength tests for men and women, when they should have had to pull the same weight if they wanted to do the same job. For example, men had to do 19 pushups, whereas women had to do 9.
- It’s not fair to a man if he’s fighting with women who can’t even lift half his weight. If he has to do more, he’s putting his life at risk that much more, and it’s not right to ask him to do that.
- If we’re talking about drafting women at some point (which seems pretty far off, but I’ll write this anyway) it’s not right to ask women to work many times harder than men in order to reach the level of performance necessary.
- There can be issues surrounding availability, because of childbearing.
- Also, periods. While in the bush. With no bathrooms. Yuck.
My dad also mentioned that some of the women he knew in the military were jacked. They were extremely capable. However, the majority of women would have a lot of difficulty or would be incapable of reaching this high standard of fitness.
I just spent half an hour I meant to spend writing.

Hmmm good point. In my opinion, in cases of NECESSITY, a woman can lead, and take up arms. I don’t think that’s a point of debate: in cases of absolute necessity, anyone who can help should help. I mean, look at Joan of Arc. She waited until her voices told her what to do, and never would have dreamed of leading the French army without leave. But they’re the exception.

December 19, 2024 at 7:15 am #192357Yes! These are just what I have running through my mind and never put on paper!
My dad was in the military and is now in law enforcement and one thing he always says is, “When I get shot, I’d rather have A guy carry me out then a woman try to drag me out and end up getting us both killed.” He’s a very tall, muscular guy, and I honestly don’t know a single woman who could make head or tale of carrying him out of a fight zone.
Just another point to add.
Man is born for the fight, to be forged and molded into a sharper, finer, stronger image of God

December 19, 2024 at 10:56 am #192369Stupendous points! Those are things I’ve thought about with a shudder. Some of our soldiers captured in Afghanistan were women. In one situation, she was the only one to survive because the medical staff of the place didn’t want to see her die.
Our Marine grandfather told my mother that she’d enlist “over his dead body.” Meanwhile, a cousin of mine met her husband at a base. (She was a Marine and he was a paratrooper and they did NOT get along at first. XD) In times of need, a woman may serve, but there are many ways to do that.
Most women who serve are not in combat capacities.
I have a character who served in a communications unit in the Marines. Those units aren’t “supposed to” ever join combat. (In reality, combat doesn’t always choose who it targets.) For her arc, she enlisted as a backslidden teen and turned to God while on tour. She is feminine and godly and I do not feel that she violates God’s roles for his people. (She joins the FBI after her 5 years to stop a terrorist organization that killed her best friend but that’s beside the point.)

I have a brother.
On a side note, I regret to share the recent passing of one Black Mongoose. 😉
