      @writerlexi1216 I’m so glad I could help! Yeah, I could definitely see a trilogy working GREAT for Caira and Newton!

      So, when I think of 14/15, I feel like that’s really young, but I’m fifteen and I’m an old soul, so I know I’m mature enough for a relationship. (Only problem is that guys my age most certainly are not mature enough, and the ones that are mature are about ten years older than me. XD) Putting myself in your charries shoes, I could see how their ages would work fine! (That, and I’ve written a couple of relationships with characters that young, so it wouldn’t be an issues to me at all.)

      YES YES YES! Definitely have an epilogue! I know I would LOVE to see them married with a dozen kids!

      You are so welcome, girl! I’m glad I could be of service t’ ye! *tips cap* And it’s good that you love hearing others talk about your charries, because I love talking about your charries, but I wouldn’t want to offend you because I don’t know them or anything and they’re like children and you must be very careful with other people’s kids. *clears throat* Yeah. I know how that feels!

        @gracie-j

        That is all so so true. In fact, as I read your post, my mind came up with two anger and several great mistake and necessity kisses that were as you said, contingent or more of a beginning than an end. For me, I guess it all depends on the couple.
        What I meant was more of the ‘declaration’ type kiss being the climax-to-end (since one of my favorite and most relevant kiss scenes was just that, so it’s always first in my mind when I think about it).

        But yes, I definitely agree with you on that point.

          WOOO! I could totally see a trilogy working great for them, too! 🙂 (And I love them to pieces and want to write about them forever, so there’s that).

          I was sort of hesitant that people may think that was too young, but I’m glad to hear that you think it’s fine. Neither of them really act their age at all because of all the things they’ve gone through. I mean, Newton was a child soldier and is used to living a rough life, so he’s extremely mature. I think it’ll probably work out depending on how it’s written! *wipes sweat off forehead* Time to get outlining!

          *tips cap* Of course! Ye’ve been a tremendous help to my poor, struggling soul, so my sincerest thanks! Ah, that means so much to hear!! I’m glad my charries are interesting!! They’re constantly up in my head all day, so it’s hard not to get super attached to them and talk about them XD

            @abigail-m Thank you! Yeah, it definitely depends on the characters and their story, without a doubt.

            Gotcha! 🙂

              So just to let you know, I re-read these posts and you just gave me an absolutely fabulous idea for my characters that I never thought of before *rubs hands together with a mischievous laugh that my poor characters can’t hear*. Thanks so much!

                @nova21 I know I’m a bit late to reply to this, but will still chip in. 🙂

                You guys have my series outline on here actually, so if you want go back and reference it after this post.

                I have it so that nobody’s in love with anyone in my first book, only friendship. The characters are about 16-17 in this book.

                At the end of book 2, when Marge gets her throne back, this whole time Ripley has been training to be a knight for her. And when he swears fealty to her, that’s when he falls in love with her (but doesn’t tell her). The characters are about ages 17-18 in this book.

                In book three, Ripley confesses to Marge his feelings and asks her to be his girlfriend. She says no, but it turns out later he asked the shapeshifter Marge that. So at the end when they free real Marge, Ripley asks real Marge, and she says yes. At this point the characters are all around 18-19 years old.

                Hope that (kinda) helped?? XD

                  @nova21

                  So in my books I have an obvious attraction between November and Ara (being that November likes her and Ara doesn’t know) and I also have Jocelyn have a crush/sorta boyfriend. In the first book they’re around 14-15. And if u think about it, while yes some of us wouldn’t be dating, it is realistic (my parents and grandparents got married in their teens). But u need to make it flow. So like mine I don’t overexplain the point that November likes Ara, except to the extent in the way he describes her, like Her silky voice or her flowing hair. Something I believe he’d think because he’s smitten with her.

                  and, for both sets of characters, it’s also realistic because they’ve been with each other since they were children. If it’s someone totally new then yes build up to it some.

                  In the second book I introduce a new character who starts to become a conflict for November because he gets close to Ara (but he’s not actually trying to steal her away or anything. It’s one of those, the guy doesn’t know this other guy likes her THAT much, and he’s not really trying anyway so yea.

                  Anywho, later in the series I eventually have some chemistry (and by that I mean a mutual love for each other) between Jocelyn and Grimm. They’d probably be like 16-17 when all that begins.

                  And then November and Ara’s relationship or friendship gets rocky while Jocelyn and Grimm grow closer.

                  In like, the last or second to last book is when I finally have November confess his love for Ara, and maybe even kiss her. Obviously she’s been picking up on the hints but both weren’t going to come out and say it, and the feelings are returned.

                  So….that’s just what I’m doing.

                  Work it how u like, honestly it IS realistic for 14 year olds to like each other, even 13 years olds. I mean, even toddlers have crushes!! But as for story-wise, I’d say keep it between the  13-14 and up range (unless writing middle grade or something)

                  although u can have younger kids be smitten, almost like little boys with their female teachers and moms lol.

                    @abigail-m Awesome! You’re so welcome! 🙂

                    @writerlexi1216
                    I know how that feels!

                    Yeah, I think their ages will be fine! What made you choose 14/15, if you don’t mind my asking? Definitely keep all the variables in mind while writing their romance, for sure. And with a fantasy world, the social norms aren’t like they are for us. So in your world, people could be married at 15/16, and Caira and Newton would be a totally normal couple, you know? Just be aware of how you portray them. If your characters are self-conscious about their ages, then the readers will be too, you know? But if they think and act like an our-world twenty-year-old, then you’re good!

                    I can totally see them as being mature, though. My own charries have lived tough lives (#tisapirateslife), so they’re all extremely mature.

                    Thank ye! I always love lendin’ a helpin’ hand to a poor, wee lass such as yerself! And, aye, I do so love yer characters. O’ course, I’m always in the mood for romance characters, so there’s no denyin’ that. 😉 They sound like fine folk, they do.

                    That sounds great! And, yeah, I should know about young’uns havin’ crushes. I crushed so hard on one guy that I thought I was going to marry him. I was nine. XD

                      Oh, this sounds similar to what I’m doing with Caira and Newton! Both of them are around the 14-15 age range, so I was worried that may be too young for romantic stuff. But you made good points, so now I feel better XD By the way, your characters sound super intriguing! And I love the name November! 🙂

                        @gracie-j Thanks! Is there anything I could do better for it? I have a faint interest in the romance genre but am not that good actually writing it if ykwim.

                                @Gracie-j

                                *claps* Yay, that makes me feel better! Well, the reason I chose 14-15 year old characters is primarily because I think I could write teenagers more accurately than adults, since I’m only fifteen myself. I feel like I can get inside the head of a 15 year old much better than, say, an older character. And I also think that it makes the whole ‘saving the world’ thing that much more difficult 😛

                                And yeah, that’s totally true! People could just get married a wee bit younger in this world, and that’s fine *shrug*

                                Oh, WHY DO WE WRITERS LIKE TO MAKE OUR BELOVED CHARRIES SUFFER SO There’s so many times I’ve honestly felt bad about the way I make my characters suffer XD

                                Yeah, I definitely think they’re mature enough for a romance, so I try not to think that’s it a big deal. And if I take it slowly, hopefully that’ll help it seem more realistic!

                                Thanks for saying that!! Your characters seem like mighty fine people indeed as well! 😉 I appreciate the tips!! You’re always super helpful 😀

                                  @writerlexi1216 Of course! Gotcha! I actually tend to gravitate toward writing older characters myself (because I’m not a typical teen and therefore cannot accurately portray one XD), but I can definitely see how that would be easier. And, yeah, certainly more difficult! 😉

                                  I know! It’s ‘cuz we love them that we completely destroy them, you know. So we can build them up better and all. 😉
