@northerner Losing work is a horrible feeling! *cries with you* Several years ago, my floppy disk crashed (yeah…I’m *barely* old enough for those…) and I lost every file for the novel I was working on. Fortunately, I had a hard copy–up to a point–but everything I had done that day was gone. On this side of it, I figure that losing files is just part of being a writer, just like my mom always told me that I wasn’t *really* a seamstress until I sewed my finger. (I did that, too…I recommend finding another way to be authentic if you sew.)
Anyway, the point is…trust your writer’s brain… It might seem like it’s gone forever, but you found the words once, and you’ll find them again. Plus, who’s to say that Attempt #2 isn’t going to be better?
Mourn the loss, but never forget that you’re a writer, and you’ve got this. 😉 <3
