Hmm, I think I’ll outline too.

May 28, 2016 at 5:26 pm #13411Sure, @rolena-hatfield . 🙂 Outlining is cool, that is sort what I’m doing anyway. How much time do you want to shoot for? I’m cool with as little as 30 min., and I could do an hour tops. (Because it’s close to dinner:)
Awesome, @daeus , you can join us! 🙂

May 28, 2016 at 5:45 pm #13414I just started, so y’all are welcome to join me, @daeus , @rolena-hatfield .
May 28, 2016 at 5:57 pm #13415@overcomer how’d your planning go? I got quite a bit laid out and a little bit written.

May 28, 2016 at 5:59 pm #13416Whoa I totally forgot to refresh my page! I’m still going to try and write for a bit! At least for 15 more minutes.

May 28, 2016 at 6:18 pm #13418I got a small plot point figured out. Not much, but it took me a while.

May 28, 2016 at 6:26 pm #13419@daeus Sometimes those smallest of details can take the longest to figure out. I got about 900 more words out.

May 28, 2016 at 6:28 pm #13420I’m taking a break before going at it for about 15 more minutes. I had forgotten what a cache of notes I’ve collected! At least I’ve managed to get some of the characterization organized. 🙂
Good for you @daeus ! I finally figured out what the main goal of my novel was a few days ago. I’m still not one hundred percent sure I’ve chosen the right main character though … only 99.9%
How’s it going, @rolena-hatfield ?
May 28, 2016 at 6:35 pm #13421Great! I wrote 900 words and remembered a few plot details I had forgotten. I love when that happens so that I don’t have to keep making things up when the details are forgotten. Nice work! Thanks for letting me write with you! I think this was our first time to do so! It’s so motivating to have someone to work with!

May 28, 2016 at 6:45 pm #13423@rolena-hatfield, @overcomer, @daeus I’ll be writing for about half an hour if any of you are still on…
INTJ - Inhumane. No-feelings. Terrible. Judgment and doom on everyone.
May 28, 2016 at 6:59 pm #13424I’m finishing up for now, @hope . 🙂
I developed my cast of characters a bit, and found some useful stuff. Preparing to write a novel (as it turns out) is actually pretty fun, even for a disorganized person like me, so I can’t wait to get back to it … maybe sometime tonight.
It was fun writing with you too, @rolena-hatfield. I’m glad you were feeling motivated! (Congratulations on all those words!) I think it helped me too. It was definitely more fun! 🙂 We’ll have to try this again sometime, you too, @daeus . 🙂

May 29, 2016 at 2:35 am #13485Everybody did great today! After a busy day I was able to write/edit 430 words on the way home tonight.
@Overcomer is this new novel going to be historical?HC
May 29, 2016 at 2:49 pm #13497That’s great, @hannah-c ! 🙂
No, actually it’s fantasy, but I do like to base some of my fantasy on historical events. I have one or two ideas for historical fiction stories, but there’s (generally speaking) a lot more research involved with that genre, so I’m saving those ideas for later down the road when I have developed my writing style and process more. Thanks for asking! 🙂
Do you like to write historical fiction?
May 30, 2016 at 1:39 am #13508Thanks @overcomer!
Ah that’s cool! Fantasy isn’t really my genre but I have a couple of bros who write along those lines (fantasy/sci-fi). Also I can totally sympathize with the research area since my current WIP which I’m editing is historical fiction. I think you’re right in saving any ideas for a historical novel til a later date. The aforementioned book was my first and I often wonder if I’m actually doing the story justice.

May 30, 2016 at 1:09 pm #13517Well, I hope that in your case, @hannah-c , more risk equals more reward! 🙂
I’m glad I went with fantasy because my understanding of it is better, and I can really pull from my imagination. While there is still some research involved, I don’t have to worry overmuch about being “realistic” or “true to the times.”
I know my brother will love to read it if I get it finished, because he laughs every time I show him some of it, and hopefully my little cousins will enjoy it too. I have a little friend also who loves dragons. 🙂
