September 27, 2017 at 11:28 am #45810I’m working on a thing for my Motion Picture writing class. So…schoolwork, but still fun. @dragon-snapper
Although, can I tell you a secret? My least favorite part of writing the script is adhering to the script format. It’s strange and feels constricting.

@that_writer_Girl_99 Motion Picture class? That sounds like so much fun! I’ve looked into scriptwriting before, and yeah, the format is odd. I find Times Roman much more friendly. πβ β β ENFP β β β
September 27, 2017 at 12:02 pm #45819@dragon-snapper @that_writer_girl_99 Question. Can character arcs be too big?

aldarley.wordpress.comSeptember 27, 2017 at 12:10 pm #45821@epicaddie2 Not from what I know of. If you’re worried that the character arc isn’t going to fit in your book, then I’d shorten it, but the characters is what carries your story. The character arc should not be immediate or too small. Character arcs can last for a few books maybe too, if its a major life aspect.
But if you think about, our lives are character arcs. We are constantly learning.
So in my opinion, no character arcs are not too long, but if you want to ask someone who is a bit more reliable that me, then you should. Dragon Snapper only learned about what a character arc was within the past year. XD

September 27, 2017 at 12:14 pm #45822eesh. I only recently learned what a character arc was, and I’m still trying to figure out how to write one. @epicaddie2 But what @dragon-snapper said is right. We’re people, constantly learning what’s right and wrong, just like our characters. If you strive to portray that accurately, then I’m not sure you can restrict an arc to any length. Just…write it.

September 27, 2017 at 12:16 pm #45823@dragon-snapper Okay, thanks! I think that I’ll stretch it out between two or three books so it isn’t very sudden.

aldarley.wordpress.comSeptember 27, 2017 at 12:18 pm #45824@that_writer_girl_99 Yeah! Thanks! I was just worried about changing my character too much, and I don’t want him to seem like a completely different person, but I think if I stretch out the character arc between several books, it should be better.
