Ooo, how fun!!! Thanks for tagging me, @devastate-lasting!
Aaaaaaand, since we can talk about anything, plz tell me someone here has read Jane Eyre and loves it as much as I do!!!! (It took serious self control to not put that entire last part in all caps…😂)
(Side note: @power, that was gloriously fun to read… XD)
February 28, 2022 at 8:59 pm #109343I’ve read Jane Eyre, I own both the actual book and the manga classic edition. I enjoy the story lots! Jane is a great character, and her relationship with Mr. Rochester is so sweet … and I loved the part at the start with her and Helen, as well. Made me quite sad/touched when I first read it.
St. John kinda annoys me, though.
Jane’s my absolute fave.

“Seven seconds till the end. Time enough for you. Perhaps. But what will you do with it?”
March 4, 2022 at 7:33 am #109364@lewilliams Indeed I am! Same name, and I’m a CA, so there’ll be a green badge next to my name.

(Hi by the way–I’m Elizabeth. *waves*) I’m actually not, but my brother Ben is and my other brother was–I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you guys. That was a terrible thing to happen, and my thoughts are with everyone. <3

That’s my wish to create.March 7, 2022 at 10:30 pm #109434I have read/ listened to Jane Eyre. I enjoyed it and thought it was deeply intriguing and surprisingly sweet. Although in full confession, I didn’t really want Jane to marry Rochester. XD
But the end was satisfactory.
Helen is the absolute best! The worst character was that secretary of the school. I despised him.
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
March 7, 2022 at 10:46 pm #109435Mr Brocklehurst …😮💨 Yup. Hated him
The end of a story, a beautiful picture; a feeling of longing yet hope~
That’s my wish to create.March 8, 2022 at 7:09 pm #109446So glad there are other fans out there! *happy sigh* Jane is indeed a ton of fun!
I agree, Jane and Mr. Rochester have a SUPER sweet relationship. (He cracks me up with his snarky comments… Add her spunk into the mix, and oh boy, don’t things get fun! XD) I think my favorite part of the novel if either when he proposes (tho, honestly, it was a pretty horrible way to propose: driving the love of your life to despair by making her believe you’re going to marry someone else and send her off to a far away country before suddenly announcing that she’s your real bride. Yes, he gets TERRIBLY sweet by the end, but he also starts off pretty terribly.😂), when she refuses to stay with him (I pretty much went through their heartache myself), or when she comes back after the fire. They’re the best together!
Ah, Helen… She’s so sweet. It’s practically impossible to not love her! Miss Temple, too. Mr. Brocklehurst on the other hand… Oof… Very few characters have made me as mad as he did!
I love Jane, too! Actually, in a lot of ways, she and I have very similar personalities… (tho I do not have NEARLY her spunk! 😂)
Ooo… May I inquire as to your reasons behind that??
I certainly agree; the end is indeed lovely. XD
And I know this wasn’t addressed to me, but I CANNOT agree with you more about Mr. Brocklehurst. He’s just despicable. My poor family had to listen to me rant furiously about him… *facepalm* XD
March 9, 2022 at 2:29 pm #109451@lydia-s Any other books you’ve read lately? Or any other classic lit you enjoy?
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
