Wow, that seems like a very well-thought out process, Audrey! Is it your first draft?
I’m…writing. I’ve spent too much time sitting around. I need to write the scene cooking in my head. It’s bothering me. @audrey-caylin

May 9, 2017 at 3:56 pm #32818@that_writer_girl_99 I think it’s like my fifth draft or something. I’m incorporating beta reader feedback, and hoping this will be one of the final drafts. I’m trying K.M. Weiland’s outlining method, which is working really well.
I know the feeling 😛 It’s great to get those scenes down, then tweak them. As the saying goes, you can’t edit it if it isn’t written!

@Audrey-caylin Wow your fifth draft? I’m on my second and it’s hard, to say the least. I’m editing it currently.

May 9, 2017 at 4:05 pm #32821Your fifth draft?! Did I read that correctly? Oh my word.
I’m on my first as well, and boy is it tough. @dragon-snapper @audrey-caylin

May 9, 2017 at 4:08 pm #32822@winter-rose I’ve been working on the idea for a long time, and have actually written the whole trilogy once before. Last September, I got inspired to turn it into a Christian novel, thus I had to rewrite the whole thing.
I think second drafts are one of my favorite parts of the writing process. The story’s down, and then you just have to tweak things… except for when you have to tweak really big things, then it does get tough.
@dragon-snapper yay for first drafts! What wordcount are you aiming for?May 9, 2017 at 4:11 pm #32823@audrey-caylin @that_writer_girl_99 Actually, it’s already finished. You could say I’m editing the first draft. It stands at about 83,000 words, though I have major tweaking to do, because like you, Audrey, I have to incorporate some Christian themes into this thing, making it partway analogy. That has to be hardest part of this book. 😛

@dragon-snapper @That_writer_girl_99 You guys got this! 🙂 *loudly cheers, waving pom poms*
@Audrey-caylin That’s interesting. I’m really hating the second draft, mostly cause it’s editing. I mean I don’t truly hate it, but for me it’s just not as fun as the first.May 9, 2017 at 4:13 pm #32825@winter-rose Augh! I know. Writing it was so much more fun that sitting and using red pens.

May 9, 2017 at 4:15 pm #32826I’m not really worried about the word count at this point. I’ll be happy if I get the story done… @audrey-caylin @dragon-snapper @winter-rose
Gabby, I’m with you. the first draft is my favorite–I kinda hate editing.

May 9, 2017 at 4:15 pm #32827@dragon-snapper for sure! I guess it helps to focus on the inner journeys of the characters, then trying to reflect them in the outer journeys. Then there’s allegory *facepalm* I’m trying to plan one that has Christ’s death and resurrection, but am quite stuck at the moment.
May 9, 2017 at 4:36 pm #32828I’m going to go make dinner now. I edited two chapters, and got an idea for a way to fix the analogy. Thanks everyone!

May 9, 2017 at 4:41 pm #32831@dragon-snapper @that_writer_girl_99 Bye! 😀
@Jess I’ll be going for a bit longer. -
