Well, I think, being a teenage girl, she wouldn’t be overly important to the religious leaders. But the religious leaders didn’t really seem to care what her father did after he betrayed Jesus. Remember when he tried to give back the money, they basically said “what do we care about you?” So I think they’d just ignore her.

That is pretty much the way I’m approaching it. Though I don’t think it’s really the main theme of the book.
