Hey, what about Patricia St John. Have you read any of her books? I imagine you have.
I did notice a lot of parallels in the Camelot book to Lord of the Rings, but I hadn’t realised that it was meant to be a parody.
Several years ago I was in a production of Alice in Wonderland and we had a dance off with the tap dancers to see who could make more noise (we were the red and black cards, I think the Highland dancers were the black cards). And it was a lot of fun!
Well, I should listen to it then 😀

September 25, 2018 at 12:49 am #76907@seekjustice I have! I like Treasures of the Snow and Twice Freed. Which ones are your favorites?
I don’t know if they’re meant to be parodies or just references, but each book does seem to have a themed connection to some big well-known tale. I’ve never read the Lord of the Rings books, so I wouldn’t have recognized that one. There were a couple of others I didn’t recognize as well.
Gilbert Morris’s Cheney Duvall series is completely different and very much better written. (I think especially because his daughter helped him with the research.)
Oh, that reminds me, you asked if you might have had books by Grace Livingston Hill’s daughter. Yes, she had a daughter named Ruth, who wrote under the name Ruth Livingston Hill. She also had an aunt named Isabella Alden who was huge in the Christian fiction field as well. I think her mother wrote some books too. So, a big family of writers. 😉
Ah, that sounds like a lot of fun!! 😀
I’ll be departing now. Goodnight!

September 25, 2018 at 1:42 pm #76910@rochellaine You had asked me a few months ago if I had read Twice Freed. I read it about a week ago, and liked it. (Although I still like my Onesimus better. 😉 )
I’ve never read the book Treasures of the Snow, but I have seen the movie.

September 25, 2018 at 9:30 pm #76911Hey, anyone want to get distracted with me? 😎
(Just kidding, you don’t have to get distracted, exactly. . . If you can help it.)

"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
September 25, 2018 at 9:44 pm #76913@rochellaine HEYYYY! I’m doing all right. I’m really stressed with school, been procrastinating too much, not getting enough sleep. . . But yeah, I’m all right. 😛 How are you?
Oh wow, you have made seven hundred more posts than I have. That’s some dedication!

September 25, 2018 at 10:09 pm #76914@dekreel, I’d get distracted with you, yeah, but I’m really busy with-
Oh HEEEEYYYY, is that a NEW TRAILER for BUMBLEBEE??? *goes nuts*
Life's a cruel joke, so you have to laugh at it sometimes.
September 25, 2018 at 10:25 pm #76915@dekreel Sorry, I disappeared, and am about to disappear again. But I was watching YouTube documentaries about different ways visual effects and clothing and acting styles are used in films and excusing it by saying I could use it to improve my writing. I love the fact that nearly everything I do can be listed under “research.”

September 25, 2018 at 10:34 pm #76916@rochellaine Haha, one of the perks of being a writer. See you later, then, I suppose. 😛
@xonos-darkgrate *raises eyebrows* Alllll righty then. Have fun! XDYou can pronounce it however you want.
September 25, 2018 at 10:42 pm #76917@dekreel, well, I did. But trailers only last for about 2 minutes. Consequently, I am once again bored.

September 25, 2018 at 10:52 pm #76918@xonos-darkgrate HAH! Point taken. I’m a bit bored myself. I don’t know, there’s something about analytical-essay-writing that just doesn’t appeal to me. 😛
By the way, how’s Mirrors doing? Anything new on that?

September 26, 2018 at 7:13 am #76919@dekreel, well, there’s always the option of sleeping. Which is I went to do. It’s lovely.
Err, not exactly. Though you could say I posted something of an update on it. . .

September 27, 2018 at 1:06 am #76922@Rochellaine I’m here. Reading up on RSI at the moment trying to a) get rid of the RSI in my wrist and b) stop it from coming back, especially during NaNo.
Are you planning on trying NaNo this year?

September 27, 2018 at 1:16 am #76923@seekjustice I’m sorry…um…what does RSI stand for? I’m assuming it has something to do with your strained arm a little while back?
I’m not planning on trying NaNo because I failed so miserably at Camp Nano the last couple times. 😛 I’m not a very fast or consistent writer, and I know I won’t be able to get the full word count of, what, 50,000 words? within a month. I may attempt it sometime in future years when I (hopefully) become more consistent in my writing.
I’m certainly looking forward to it, though, because I’ll be able to have a lot of word wars with all the people who are doing it, including you! 😉
