I’m on now. I’ll be off and on for a little while, probably.

Sorry I didn’t talk much over the weekend. I was crazily busy.

September 24, 2018 at 5:54 pm #76863Well, I’ve finally returned. And once again, I’ve forgotten the particular purpose of Writer’s Corner? Anyone care to enlighten this forgetful corndog? 😀

September 24, 2018 at 6:01 pm #76864@seekjustice Hi!! That’s okay. I was too. 😉 How’s it going? I’ve been desperately waiting for someone to be actually writing instead of just planning because I need to have some word wars. My book isn’t progressing, and that’s the best way I can think of to force it to write itself. 😛
@xonos-darkgrate Seekjustice may be answering you already, so I’ll just keep it short and say the purpose of Writers’ Corner has evolved and now is basically the only “live” topic left on KP. Whenever anyone’s writing or working on anything writing related (or even if they’re not) we get on here and chat about what we’re working on and other stuff that’s not what we’re working on.Basically, there are no requirements for staying on topic on Writers’ Corner anymore. 😉

September 24, 2018 at 6:10 pm #76865Ah, okay. That makes sense. Thank you.

September 24, 2018 at 6:11 pm #76866@xonos-darkgrate Writer’s Corner is a free-for-all where we fangirl(boy) over things and argue quite a lot, usually over topics that have nothing to do with writing.
That’s good. Well, I’m not writing anything yet…but hopefully I will be soon.

September 24, 2018 at 6:19 pm #76867Good to know haha, @seekjustice.
In that case, I’m probably going to enjoy this thread. .

September 24, 2018 at 6:36 pm #76868@seekjustice I’m going back to our old question: Have you listened to any new musicals lately? 😉
@xonos-darkgrate Well, if you’re here now, the normal question is “What are you working on?” to start things out. 🙂 So, are you working on anything at the moment? Research, outlining, planning, brainstorming, or actually writing count. 😉"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
September 24, 2018 at 6:39 pm #76869Ah, my new favourite at the moment is The Secret Garden.

September 24, 2018 at 6:58 pm #76870@seekjustice I usually look up any new musical you mention immediately and listen to at least a few bars, but I can’t right now because I’m waiting in the back while my dad gives a seminar. (I love it when he gives seminars, because I get to sing while people are coming in. 😉 ) So, I’ll just have to ignore the “music” side of it for now and address the book. Have you read it? I loved it, except for the “magic” part, of course. It reminded me of Heidi. Have you read Heidi? If you’ve read Heidi, have you read the sequels? Am I rambling? Yes.
I’ve stopped rambling.

September 24, 2018 at 7:04 pm #76871I read–or rather my mum read to me–Heidi many years ago. I don’t remember being particularly impressed by it and I kind of lumped it under Pollyanna/Anne of Green Gables/Elsie Dinsmore/What Katy Did and all the other girl books I didn’t like, but I should definitely try it again.
And yes, I’m currently reading it. (and referring to the magic part of it, Mary calls the garden magic, but she means magic in the sense that it causes wonder, but the musical does deal more with ghosts).

September 24, 2018 at 7:20 pm #76873You…don’t like Anne of Green Gables???? No. Please, no.
I didn’t understand Anne of Green Gables until I became a writer, but I liked it even before then. But, did you read it before you started writing? If so, why not try it again? (and the rest of the series. 😉 )
POLLYANNA IS AMAZING.
I liked the What Katy Did series, but I don’t remember it.
Yeah, but didn’t they keep repeating a “charm” or something to try to heal the guy? I know it was all play-acting, and it was something like fresh air and companionship that did the healing, but I seem to remember them pretending to work magic. It didn’t bother me a lot, though, because it was obviously a play. Just like in Little Men when Demi and Daisy worship the false god, which is totally bad, but it was portrayed well. (Have you read Alcott? I semi-like her, kind of like Austen.)
I think I’ve just established that I like all the books you don’t like. How sad. Or how happy, because it means I get to enjoy more books, right? 😛

September 24, 2018 at 9:52 pm #76879Well, @rochellaine, at the moment. Not much. I finished a drawing today though, so there’s that.
