@seekjustice Nevada is very far away from me. 🙂 I’m on the East Coast, and it’s nearly on the West Coast. However, I go out there in July or August every year to Lake Tahoe for a conference my law school holds there. *sits back and waits until I can breathe again* You seriously have a map of the US for us on KP? What do you do, put pins in it where you think we each live? 😮 😛
Yup, Alia told you already what it is. He has German Shepherds to help him in his work. K-9 is a form of the word “Canine.”
@alia …Okay, okay. I’ll say that I like the idea of killing my characters. I understand it makes a good book if one or more of the characters who the readers get attached to dies, since it’s good to be able to make readers both cry and laugh. It’s the actual process of killing the characters that I can’t stand.I told you. I’ve tried to put my characters in danger of death, but they always escape! I wonder if @catwing has anything to do with it? Maybe they learned the art of surviving things from cats, who are believed to have multiple lives.

April 25, 2018 at 7:31 pm #71601@seekjustice, okay, I suppose we can try to keep her away from killing for a bit longer…
@catwing, lucky, I want a sword. But I only have sisters and I don’t think they’ll get me one.
@rochellaine, @the-others-I-already-tagged, If I disappear in about 20 minutes, I have gone to praise team practice and shall most likely return in about an hour- This reply was modified 6 years, 7 months ago by Alia.

Kapeefer til we're old and greyApril 25, 2018 at 7:34 pm #71604@seekjustice Thank you! Bless you! I will survive.
And think of the many great authors who didn’t kill characters in every novel. Even C.S. Lewis didn’t. He only killed characters in some of his books. Jane Austen, of course, but you don’t like her, so that’s not really a good argument.
Can’t you all think of any more?
@alia Thank you for the reprieve. 😛"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
April 25, 2018 at 7:34 pm #71605@seekjustice He is. *beams* (sometimes he’s annoying, but mostly he’s nice. 😉 )
He is the star of a few blog posts, including my latest one about the sword.
He makes up for being my only brother by being extra annoying and extra nice (mostly nice). XPIMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
April 25, 2018 at 7:34 pm #71606@rochellaine I’ll find you all one day 😛
Nope, I put it up the other day when I was talking to you about all the things I wanted to do in America, because I realised I literally have no idea where anything in America is. So it’s up there now, and I have some sort of mental picture of all the states in relation to one another. It’s up there with the map of Tasmania I’ve been using as a guide for my novel.
Oh of course! How did I not see that? K-9 just looks cooler than Canine.
Contrary to popular belief, I do not actually enjoy killing characters.
Okay, maybe I kind of do.

April 25, 2018 at 7:38 pm #71607@catwing Your brother got you a sword? Well, my brother got me a Civil War style Colt Navy revolver. Top that!
😛 😛 😛 😛 😛
Seriously, though, I read your blog post about it and the sword sounds really cool!
(Especially since the range we normally go to won’t allow black powder guns, so I rarely get to shoot the revolver anyway. 🙁 )

April 25, 2018 at 7:41 pm #71608My feelings on Jane Austen are not complimentary. For the amount that the guillotine features in the Scarlet Pimpernel books, people rarely ever die. In fact, I don’t think anyone dies in the first one excepting that random marquis that Marguerite accidently denounced before the start of the book. And, like…um…I can’t think of anymore authors that I read who don’t kill at least a few characters.
@catwing I know what you mean. My sister makes up for being my only sister by being super annoying but also super cool.(and Rochellaine, my sister is after my own heart. she was complaining the other day that she would have to kill her main character to end the story, because she couldn’t think of any other way to finish)

April 25, 2018 at 7:41 pm #71609@rochellaine Kay is offering death escape classes for the fictional. (Not really, I’m not talented enough o write that.) XP
@alia I am lucky.
@seekjustice Would they like classes. XDIMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
April 25, 2018 at 7:46 pm #71611@catwing I might cause my readers less pain if they did take death escape classes. Though, I mean, they’ve had some pretty good escapes. One of my characters was executed, and then I resurrected him.

April 25, 2018 at 7:47 pm #71612@rochellaine Top a Civil War revolver? Okay… I have a compound bow. 🙂 (I feel like I’m sounding spoiled or something. 😛 )
@seekjustice I guess that’s how the cookie crumbles.IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
April 25, 2018 at 7:47 pm #71613@rochellaine, you couldn’t have made your comment about killing off characters sooner???

Kapeefer til we're old and greyApril 25, 2018 at 7:49 pm #71614@catwing, @rochellaine…I’ve been to the Great Wall of China, three times. have I topped y’all?

Kapeefer til we're old and greyApril 25, 2018 at 7:49 pm #71615@catwing Completely off topic, but that is basically the weirdest saying ever. No one says that in Australia ;D

April 25, 2018 at 7:51 pm #71616@seekjustice Tell your sister that I understand the problem, but from everything I’ve read with advice on writing that’s considered a very bad reason to kill a character. If you need to kill them off, have a good reason to do so. Don’t just do it because you can’t think of anything else to do. 😀
random marquis that Marguerite accidently denounced
Okay, now I really have to read the Scarlet Pimpernel. 😛
@catwing Haha! I don’t have a bow, though I’d probably like one. It’s fine to be spoiled by a sibling. (Says I who has been spoiled immensely by the most amazing brother in the world…) I don’t really think it’s a good idea to let my characters take those classes. They’re too good at escaping as it is. 😉
@alia Sorry, I’m not sure exactly what you mean about my character-killing comment?I’m going to leave now for a while. Hope to see you all soon!

April 25, 2018 at 7:56 pm #71618@alia ummmmm… no. I’ve been the opening of the Ark though.
@seekjustice *shrug* okay, what do you aussies say?
@rochellaine Aye. 😛IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
