@rochellaine, actually, if they had stayed they would have been killed. But knowing how hard that would be for you to hear, I saved them.

Oh, that’s wonderful. 🙂 It’s amazing to realize that I have the power to save the lives of fictional people in a fictional world which exists at present only in the mind of a girl who lives quite far away from me, and whom I’ve never met.
*sits back and contemplates my impact on society* – that is – fictional society!
One of my sisters just peeked over my shoulder as I was typing and asked, “Do you always make your characters just like you?”
……..um…..
She explained that she actually was referring to the fact that my character is nineteen years old, like I am, but I’m wondering how much she actually read… 😮

@rochellaine, well I had already killed off most of the group in that scene, so I thought I’d spare them, this time.
That’s funny. My characters are usually like my family, but I don’t think any of them are like me

Kapeefer til we're old and grey@alia My characters usually have a little bit of me in them, and a little bit of my brother, my sister, or my friend, or a random person I meet on the street. 🙂 But this particular character she was talking about actually has several very similar character traits to me, which are pretty obvious to my siblings when they read the story. I usually prefer not to have a character so similar to anyone in particular that the reader will be able to tell of whom I was thinking, but for this plot I had to have my character act like me in certain parts of the story.

@rochellaine, in my older sister’s book one of her characters is a mix a younger sister and myself. its kind of funny because we both claim Cassie.

But now, it’s my day to go see Newsies! So I have about half an hour and then I’ve got to get ready to go.

Kapeefer til we're old and greyOkay, so the basic rundown is this:
1. Prologue to You’ll Never Be Alone: Lucie comes to meet her father who has been imprisoned for her whole life and takes him home to live with her.
2. The Way It Ought to Be (London) to The Trial: introduces the character of Carton and Charles is framed for treason by Mr Barsad.
3. Reflection to Wedding: Carton and Darnay fall in love with Lucie and Darnay gets married. In there is a letter from Darnay’s evil uncle and an explanation about the jobs of resurrection men
4. If Dreams Came True: showcases a number of years, starting with right after Lucie’s wedding, going to the birth of their child (Little Lucie) and Lucie growing up to be about ten.
5. Out of Sight Out of Mind: just before this song starts a little boy gets killes by Evremonde, Darnay’s uncle. In this song Madame Defarge sings about the way they are treated and she goads Gaspard, the child’s father into murdering Evremonde, which happens at the end of the song.
6. Little One: this song starts with little Lucie and Carton praying together and then in the second verse changes to the funeral of the child killed earlier. At the end of this song Gaspard is arrested and executed.
7. Until Tomorrow to Everything Stays the Same: songs about the revolution. During these songs Darnay goes to France to save an old servant of his uncle’s and ends up arrested.
8. The Tale: he goes to trial after Lucie and her father arrive and madame Defarge reads out a letter written by Lucie’s father when he was imprison which condemns Darnay to death for being one of the evremondes.
9. If Dreams came true reprise: Carton also comes to France and reflects on the life he has lead.
10. Without a word: Lucie gets angry at Charles for leaving home but promises to look after their child.
11. The Bluff to The Letter: Carton decides to die for Darnay so he makes a deal with Barsad, the turncoat spy from the start, who uses to work for Evremonde and now works for the Defarges. He sings a song about Little Lucie later on, asking God to spare her father from death. And then he goes to the prison, with the help of Barsad, drugs Darnay and takes his place.
12. Defarge Goodbye: Madame Defarge gets shot after she tries to kill Lucie and her daughter and Defarge sings to her as she dies.
13. Carton and a seamstress he meets go to the guillotine together and Carton reflects that this one act of sacrifice has made his whole life worth it.
Whew! That was long. Does it kinda make sense?
