March 1, 2018 at 11:48 pm #65229@rochellaine Well… The other day I was reading about electric fields, and I thought “what if I could use that in my WIP?” So I googled what would happen if we had a much stronger magnetic field, and something said that we could fly. I really don’t think that was based on scientific evidence, but it gave me a story idea: what if there was a world where people could use the sky like the ocean, and use the magnetic field to travel? Anyhoo, I’ve got a story idea in my brain, we’ll see where it goes… 😉
lol That all looks slightly crazy. Don’t worry, it works in my brain.
What are you working on?

http://www.encircledbygrace.com/March 2, 2018 at 12:56 am #65235@kaya-young Sorry I didn’t get back when I planned. I got tied up. But I hope you’ll be a frequenter of this topic from now on!
That does sound interesting. One of the things I like best about sci-fi is when it’s well thought out and researched. In one of the Tom Swift Jr. books Tom makes a zero gravity machine by making a huge box with different amounts of magnetic pulls on each side and then goes inside it and walks on the ceiling and walls. (He does it to practice before going into space on his spaceship, which he also invented. 🙂 ) I don’t know how real zero gravity machines work.
I’m working on a his-fic short story as a break from my western. I got kind of stuck with my plans for the western and since I’d started the short story awhile ago I came back to it and once I finish I’ll return to the western hopefully refreshed!
@dekreel Sorry I missed you! *Assumes you’ve gone by now since it’s midnight where you live* *realizes it’s one o’clock am here* *laughs*"Sylvester - Sylvester!"

March 2, 2018 at 1:11 am #65239@rochellaine Editing the KPA a bit. I think it really needs some tweaking. But at least the plot is in place! FOR ONCE!
How about you?
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 2, 2018 at 1:30 am #65240@dekreel The plot is in place? That’s always a good thing! 😀
I’m trying to work on writing my his-fic short story and not get distracted. 🙂
I’m also staying up purposefully, not distractedly, waiting for my brother to come home from the airport. (Remember I told you I couldn’t ask him about the Star Trek episode because he was out of state?) When he comes home I’ll say hi and go to bed. How long will you be up? Or just until you feel tired? 🙂
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 2, 2018 at 1:38 am #65241@rochellaine I have no idea how long I’ll be up… When I’m finished writing, I guess.
Can you ask your brother what he thinks about that Chain of Command episode, too? (Part 2, specifically?)
What time is your story set in?
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 2, 2018 at 1:45 am #65245@dekreel Okayyy, but it’s really late here, so I might wait for that discussion until morning. 😀
It was originally intended to be set in the 60s, but I think I’m moving it back to the 50s. Do you ever write historical fiction?

March 2, 2018 at 2:06 am #65248@rochellaine Oh, sorry I missed you! See you!
I haven’t. Not since Sam’s Ninja Gypsy poem.
Umm…… I wrote a time travel story when I was little X’D
Buh bye!

March 2, 2018 at 11:23 am #65258@dekreel Okay! I asked my brother this morning what he thought of Chain of Command, and he said
“There…are…FOUR…LIGHTS!!!!!!”
😀 😀 😀 He actually said that, and then told me to write it exactly like that when I replied to you.
When I asked him what he actually thought of it he said that he likes it and it’s considered one of the really good TNG episodes, but you have to see part one, too. 🙂 (And that Kirk was tortured once, too, so it’s funny that you like TOS so much but had never seen a captain tortured before.)
There have been three more poems written since Sam’s. I wrote one about blue hair, which he tagged me with, and Jen write one about an Octopus Ball, and Ben wrote one titled Snow Makes Me Hungry.
I especially like @jenwriter17 ‘s poem. It’s really funny!

March 2, 2018 at 3:24 pm #65303Hellooo! I’m writing in the middle of the day again, instead of in the middle of the night!
Anyone around?
