I would also have to say that Ilayne and Scarlett’s role-play (it’s a crossover story) is worth reading. Definitely read all the way through Origins. Also the Adventures with the Scarlet Man random rp if you haven’t already. That one has to be one of the FUNNIEST role-plays on all of the Aetherlight forums. EVER. 😛 Also try Etlo Maxlance’s story (that guy is hilarious) and the Warfalcon’s Journey.

Okay, I’m working on a short story set in the 50s. I’ve had it going for a while, but a few weeks ago I lost about a thousand words and got discouraged. I was listening to some 50s music on Saturday and was reminded of it, so I decided to try again. So far it’s going pretty well… 🙂
I read your Anastasia post. I thought it funny that you said you felt more sorry for Marie Antoinette than for Anastasia, since I always felt the opposite, seeing that Marie actually did a lot of bad things, while Anastasia’s only fault was that she was the daughter of her father.

Well, I guess I always knew more about Marie Antoinette, I knew that she died and though she did do horrible things, she didn’t have a nice life, and I feel it was mostly through other people’s greediness that she became a “villain”. I don’t even remember being aware that Anastasia actually died, since it was probably only mentioned in the afterword of the book I read. I do like Anastasia a lot more than Marie though, I feel Anastasia and I would be very good friends…but I kind of don’t blame the French people for guillotining Marie.

@seekjustice I got the idea when I watched a movie, and there was this girl I loved, who I thought was a main character, but then she ended up in despair and crying in her last scene, and the end of the movie – probably ten minutes – was without her completely! I got so mad and decided I could do a better than those horrible mean unfeeling writers! 😀
So anyway, I’m not really doing it at all like the movie, except for one little part of the plot and the girl, of course. But I had to take that girl let her be happy, because she really was so sweet. Best description I can give you is she’s a singer in the 50s who believes that because of the bad reputation attached to her occupation no one will ever think she’s worth knowing. Sad. 🙂
My favorite royal has always been Lady Jane Grey. She was a Christian, and that was why she died, so of course I liked that, but the story had a doubly tragic feel for me because she had recently been married, and was so in love with her husband, but they were both killed. (I adore romance, and real life is even better.) Do you know her?
