Why didn’t that tag work? Hm. Odd. Let’s try that again! @that_writer_girl_99

November 5, 2017 at 2:24 pm #51620@princessfoo @catwing @daughteroftheking @that_writer_girl_99 @anyone I’ll start working on my Snow White retelling/NaNo project in about 5 to 10 minutes (I have to do something else first).
@princessfoo Does your Snow White retelling happen to be for the Rooglewood contest?November 5, 2017 at 2:27 pm #51621Why does no one ever tag me right? *wails*

November 5, 2017 at 2:48 pm #51624Agh! Sorry @daughteroftheking and @that_writer_girl_99 I don’t know why it didn’t work for you two…
November 5, 2017 at 2:49 pm #51625It’s still not working! What is up with this?
November 5, 2017 at 2:49 pm #51626@jessi-rae Nooooo… What is the Rooglewood contest?
November 5, 2017 at 3:02 pm #51627@princessfoo I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or serious… (I’m a literalist, so it’s hard sometimes for me to tell when someone’s joking, especially online *sheepish grin*) The Rooglewood contest is a contest with Rooglewood Press, where they publish anthologies of Five Something Somethings. Like Five Magic Roses (five Beauty and the Beast retellings), Five Glass Slippers (five Cinderella retellings), Five Magic Spindles (five Sleeping Beauty retellings), and now Five Poisoned Apples (five Snow White retellings). Contest entries must be submitted by the 31st of December, though your submission fee has to be mailed earlier (around the middle of December).
November 5, 2017 at 3:09 pm #51628@jessi-rae I was being serious. I had heard some Kapeefers mention it before, but I wasn’t really sure what it was. (I’m a literalist too! I have a really hard time analyzing poems in school because I take everything too literally.) There is no way it would be done in time for me to submit it. I was working on the first chapter (and I am a very slow writer). Plus, it’s not my current main WIP. Maybe next year I will. What’s the word count max-minimum for the contest?
November 5, 2017 at 3:15 pm #51629@princessfoo Okay. Sorry for doubting you. 🙂 The minimum word count is 5,000 words (if I remember correctly), and the maximum is 20,000. I’m shooting for 20,000 (’cause I’m crazy XD), and I’m still on my rough draft! So I’m doing the story for NaNo, and then hopefully I can edit the whole thing next month and sent it off within the last couple days. Since I’m a slow writer too (due to my being a perfectionist), I’m really pushing it! I could send you the link to the Rooglewood website, if you like, so you can see what all it entails. Part of the reason I’m really wanting to do it this year is because it’s the last year they’ll do one of these contests. For a while, if not forever.
November 5, 2017 at 4:10 pm #51640@jessi-rae No, that’s okay. Thanks for telling me about it. It’s too bad it’s ending. 🙁
November 5, 2017 at 4:20 pm #51641@princessfoo You’re welcome. I’m sorry you won’t be able to enter. 🙁
November 5, 2017 at 6:45 pm #51660@jess-penrose If you tell me what is Word War perhaps I shall.

@catwing – Word War. Where two or more people set a time limit and see how many words each can add to their story in that time, then compare results. It is a form of high-speed writing motivation.Writer | Freelance Editor
