@hope I used the plugin WCP contact form. I liked it because it came with a captcha and didn’t cost anything.
I have not made a landing page yet because I don’t have my free offer written yet, but I will be working on that shortly.

February 5, 2016 at 11:20 am #9032Never mind about the contact page; I figured that part out.

February 5, 2016 at 12:46 pm #9033Ohhhh yes, I forgot to mention that the most awesomest part of WordPress is the plugins!!!! There are thousands of them available. I use several and haven’t paid for one yet!!!
February 5, 2016 at 2:19 pm #9040I know I love the widgets. One of them includes a Mailchimp popup, but I don’t normally like pop-ups on sites I visit, so I’m not going to us it…yet. ; )
I’m not sure how to create a landing page yet. That may be something I’ll need to upgrade for, but I won’t need one until summer. Can you tell me how you do it whenever you do make one, @Daeus.
Also, everyone, here is my blog. I’m pretty happy with it right now, but any comments are welcomed: http://writinginthelightpublishing.com/

February 5, 2016 at 7:35 pm #9055@ivy-rose What exactly are plug-ins?
February 5, 2016 at 7:57 pm #9058@sarah-h They’re premade programs that you just download and start using. Think of it like an extra arm for a robot you already have – only instead of having to wire and screw the arm onto the preexisting robot, you can just clip it on and it starts working. WordPress plugins are similar to that. For instance, my contact form is a plugin. I simply downloaded the plugin and – tada! I had a contact form. There are a gazillion plugins out there. Some will let you sell things, run interactive courses, add more options to your text editor, let you set up an email collection system, sync to your social media accounts, add social media sharing buttons – there is really a plugin for everything.

February 5, 2016 at 8:40 pm #9059@hope Do I need to become a member to post comments on your blog? It looks great, BTW. And is it only Americans allowed to do the Captions Challenges or are overseas people welcome too? (That is what I’m most interested in.) 🙂 Keep up the great work!
February 5, 2016 at 9:10 pm #9062Thanks, @bluejay. And no, it’s not just for Americans. Anyone can join. 😉 As to commenting, I don’t think you need to be a member. You can probably comment anonymously; I think you should be able to anyway. Tell me if you have any problems and I’ll try to figure it out. 🙂

February 6, 2016 at 12:43 pm #9068@Sarah-h Yeah, Daeus explained it very well there. I like to think about plugins as apps. You can get ‘apps’ for WordPress just like you get apps for a cell phone. The WordPress “apps” make your website do something that it isn’t already programmed for …just like a cell phone app.
February 6, 2016 at 9:15 pm #9074Thanks, Daeus and Ivy Rose!
February 7, 2016 at 5:08 pm #9076Wordpress is defenitely the way to go. Most of it is pretty simple, and their free forums help you with anything complicated. Feel free to email me for help or check out my wordpress blog at levipierpont.com!
February 12, 2016 at 9:56 pm #9178@hope I tried to leave a comment (or reply) to the captions challenge but nothing happened. Does my info (email and name) get sent to you and do I receive a password so that I can log in? Is that how it works? I don’t know if this counts but would you mind if I posted my two captions here since I can’t get it to work and it ends tomorrow???
They are: “If you tell the true, you have nothing to fear.” And – “Tell anything but the truth and then you’ll have to run.”
If we can get it working for me, I’ll be more than happy to post them there. Can’t wait to hear from you. And no matter how late you post it, I’ll probably receive it today, cause it’s only 2pm over here. 😛February 13, 2016 at 8:42 am #9182@bluejay I got your captions. 😉 I got your comment too. Basically, I have my blog set so I need to approve the first comment someone makes (which I have). After that first time, you can comment and it will go directly to the blog.
