Day after day thinking about you
Wondering if this haunts you too
Do you care as much as I do?
Or am I just another face?
Waiting to see you again
Knowing any time could be the end
If you move on what would I do?
Nothing left to hold on to
Thoughts racing as I try to fall asleep
Are you lying awake thinking about me?
Or are you sleeping careless?
Do you stare at the moon and wonder if I’m watching it too?
Do you wonder if I’m thinking of you?
Tell me you do and it’s not just me
Tell me so I can be free
Of this doubt and hesitation
If you tell me you don’t
Who do I have left?
Could we possibly stay best friends after that?
Or would you stop responding and tell yourself you forgot?
If you never see me again what’s the point?
There is no point
To hoping
To wanting
But all I can do is wish
Are you wishing too?
Are you scared like me that I’ll push you away?
I won’t. All I wish for is for you to stay
And for me to know so I’m not guessing anymore
But if you never see me again what’s the point?
There is no point
To hoping
To wanting
But all I can do is wish.

Oh my goodness, that was wonderful! I loved it. My favorite line was “Do you stare at the moon and wonder if I’m watching it too?” Another favorite was “Could we possibly stay best friends after that?” and then “Are you scared like me that I’ll push you away? I won’t. All I wish for is for you to stay.” I highly enjoyed this! Great expression of human emotion.
@joy-caroline Thank you so much!!
