      Oh, it’s fine! I was just checking. (Docs was acting up, and it looked like it had deleted something.)

        Hey everyone!

        I LOVE WINGFEATHER!!! I have been obsessed with it for the last year and I barely have anyone to share my obsession with. Now I do!!

        Oh my goodness, Janner’s death is just pure devastation. I cried so hard (thankfully I was listening to it on audio so I didn’t wreck the book).

        My favorite character is probably Janner, although there are so many characters that it’s hard to choose. I also really like Rudric, Arundel, Nugget, and Artham. Sorry if I misspelled any of those names. I haven’t read the books in a while.

        Also, I didn’t have time to read this whole thread, so I don’t know everything you guys have discussed so far.

          Hi, @annabelle !

          Ach! Those are all great characters. Artham is probably my absolute favorite, but, yeah, it’s hard to choose. 😉

            Yeah, I like Artham, mostly because his wings are just so… cool. By the way, do you know of a name for a  fantasy creature (besides an angel, if they can be considered fantasy), that has wings like that?

              I had a picture I drew of Artham Wingfeather……where is it….

              Actually, I just took a picture of the illustration in the book and colored it in a digital program….

                That sounds cool, @keilah-h, even if it’s not completely original. I’d like to see it if you’re able to find it!

                  @annabelle

                  Hmm, I’m not sure. The most similar thing besides angels (not fantasy, agreed) I can think of is either a pegasus or a huge eagle.

                  An eagle with a ten foot wingspan, strong protective instincts, and ready to sacrifice all if it would help those close to it.

                    Okay, thanks, @elishavet-pidyon. I’m thinking of writing a story about more creatures like Artham, so I was wondering if there was already a name for that kind of species or if I’ll have to make one up myself.

                      @annabelle

                      You’re welcome! I can’t think of anything, but then, there might be something like that one of the mythology enthusiats here would know about. I don’t know much about fantasy in that direction myself.

                      Actually, Artham did inspire a character/creature in one of my books: essentially, the eagle I described above.

                      I was facsinated with Artham’s war cry and ended up creating the Mountain Guardian Eagle in place of any person. XD

                      Your story sounds fascinating, and I hope it turns out amazingly!

                        Yeah, I’ll do some more research on it when I have the time. Thanks for the encouragement. 🙂

                          Here’s my drawing! I took a picture of the illustration in the second book and colored it in, using the description in the book to figure out what color his feathers were.

                            Wow, that’s cool, @keilah-h! I like the vibrant colors. The illustration in the book is only black and white, so it’s nice to see it in color. I actually always thought his feathers were white or something, I didn’t realize they were grey like that.

                              Ah yes, most people look at one a little strange if we start talking about stones which change people into animals, especially if one emphasizes the fact it’s by a Christian. XD

                              That’s interesting. I always saw Artham’s wings reddish, like a red hawk.

                                Yeah, that’s very true. The way to get people to read it without turning them off is just conveniently “forgetting” about the ancient stones and tell them about the rest.

                                I guess we all have different visualizations of Artham! I actually like the grey wings better than white, I guess I just didn’t read it close enough.

                                  Exactly. Or go through and explain all the types and shadows. Which is hard to do without spoiling anything. *Sigh*

                                  Well, the book said it was a hawk, but it never said what type. Later, when it described him is used ‘reddish’. So this is the type I saw. =)
