      Which one of your characters would you most likely be friends with and why?

      Okay, so I tried imagining myself with each of my characters, but none of them really work. XD They’re all a little crazy or they’re loners so… I’m not sure if I could be friends with any of them. I genuinely tried to think about it, but I really don’t think I would get a long with any of them.

      So would you be friends with any of your characters? And why? Or are your characters a bit troublesome as well?

        @kathleenramm I’d love to say all of them…ha ha…but I don’t doubt that I’d butt heads with most of them, since we’re all so alike. 😉 Probably Rina. I put a lot of myself into her, but she turned out more unique than like me, so we’d probably be more compatible. Plus, she likes people (which is an oxymoron, since she’s a murderer…) and she has a really sweet personality (once you get past the killing part). I’d rather hang out with her than any of my other characters anyway, so… (Man, that’s horrible! 😆)

        Then Elliot, Xavier, and Julius could make friends with any inanimate object, so we’d probably be close too. Keaton…eh. I’m not so sure. We’d probably just sit together in total silence.

          I would befriend a few of my characters, partly because some of them are based off of personalities I see in real life. but the one that’s most based off myself I really don’t know if i’d get along with. he is a sort of villain for part of his story, then when he turns good, (spoiler alert for unwritten story) maybe, he’s more shy afterwards.

          We crazy people are the normal ones.

            @kathleenramm *literally forgets every sing character ever made, ever.* I’m trying to imagine myself there, haha, but there’s so many of them…and they’re either all so old or too young or kind of psycho or into crime or extremely introverted or stuff…

            Probably Lionel, to be honest. One of my oldest characters and one of the more friendly ones.

              @kathleenramm

              So….

              Probs all of my MCs….😂😂

              Even the villain, cuz I’m like “YOU POOR THING!!” XD.

              but seriously, I’d probably be friends with all of them. Would we clash sometimes? Obviously. Most everyone does once in a while, but I really like all of my MCs.

                In my current WIP? I can imagine being friends with at least two of my characters… possibly six of them. Maybe more. I can think of at least one I wouldn’t be friends with at all. Their personality does not mesh well with mine.

                But two of them for sure. I could be best friends with at least one. 🙂

                  @gracie-j

                  Get past the killing part? What kind of people do you like to hang out with?! XD 😉

                  Rina sounds like a really interesting character. What character is she in your story? Villain, MC, side character?

                  @devastate-lasting

                  Haha, yes my characters suffer from very similar dilemmas.  I love them all, and I’d try to befriend them but… they may end up stealing my wallet or something. XD They have kinda complicated lives you see. Except for maybe a couple MC, but I haven’t developed them enough yet to be considered an official character, if that makes sense.

                  @godlyfantasy12

                  That’s cool that you’d be friends with all your MC! And I totally relate to wanting to befriend villains. XD They are often times the loneliest characters.

                  How many main characters do you have as of now?

                    @kathleenramm

                    7-8 i say that because one of my MC’s best friend is an animal, so I haven’t decided yet if I wanna give him some POV chapters or not.

                    i introduce a new POV character in every book until after book 4. Then the last three books are with those I’ve already introduced, unless something changes.

                      I still call them secondary characters sometimes, or POV characters. My protagonist is a girl named Arabella.

                        @kathleenramm I tend to associate myself with pirates, you see. And, well, Rina has been known to pirate and murder, but now that she’s been born again, she’s become a rather nice person (when she’s not bribing honest traders or yelling at her crew). She’s the MC of Held Captive, and a POV character in the next three books. She’s definitely my favorite character, especially to write.

                          Although I’ve not written about pirates, they do sound like fun people to write about. Kinda makes me want to try writing a swashbuckling pirate novel with sea monsters. XD The genre is surprisingly underutilized I feel like in the book world. Unless I’m just in the wrong libraries.

                            @kathleenramm ‘Tis true that, if one were to search, they could find a myriad of pirate novels, but the mainstream is sorely lacking. I can really only conjure up Rafael Sabatini and Robert Louis Stevenson when I think of pirate writers. The only Christian ones I know of are Kathleen Y’Barbo and MaryLu Tyndall.

                            Rina and I are proud supporters of the More Good Pirate Novels movement–or the MGPN. (Which I just created. Would you like to join?) We need more!

                            I would definitely recommend branching into the world of piracy! It is jolly good fun! If you ever decide to try a pirate novel, I have some resources I could share with ya…

                              @kathleenramm

                              I would be good friends with most of my main characters I think, though the more like me they are, the less I would get along with them :/ Which may be slightly concerning.

                              However, I definitely would get along very well with the main character of my current novel though. He’s heavily based on my own brother (who may or may not be my “favourite” brother, if you can have such a thing without causing WW3) so of course I like him a lot.

                              Also, the friend and kind of, but never confirmed, love interest of the main character is in a lot ways an amalgamation of several of my friends and I dearly love her. She and I would be great friends.

                              @gracie-j

                              ooh, I know another Christian pirate writer! Wayne Thomas Batson has got a trilogy of pirate books. I haven’t read them, but my siblings and myself have read a number of his other books, so they’re probably good.

                              May I join the MGPN too??? I am just finishing off the climax of this current book and then I’m diving (pun completely intended) into my own pirate novel, which is absolutely going to be so much fun.

                                I’m in the middle many different WIP, so my brains telling me, “focus on finishing what you’ve started Kat” but then my heart is like, “Ey, it’s ’bout time we set off on the roaring seas! Join hands with  MGPN!”

                                Well, a Pirate novel may or may not have started simmering in the back. And you’re right it does look like jolly fun. XD Oh, and quick question, does the MGPN meetings have snacks?

                                @seekjustice

                                Cool! I’m going to have to check that trilogy out. And congrats on making to the final stages of your novel! What is it about may I ask?

                                  @seekjustice YAS! Girl, climb aboard! I can’t wait to read your books, and I’m so excited to hear that you’ll be starting on your pirate novel! Wahoo!

                                  I will certainly have to check Wayne Thomas Batson out.

                                  @kathleenramm
                                  We have hardtack at every meeting, same batch each time…not sure why no one eats any of it. Apparently half of our members are terrified of maggots. Otherwise, we have eggnog and cookies in honor of the holiday season. Would you like some?

                                  I mean, do finish what you’ve started…but, you know, whenever you get tired of everything else, come on and join us! We’d love to have you!

                                  Can I get a quick summary of what that pirate novel idea looks like??
