hey!! My favorite fantasy book is probably The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson. (Or at least it’s the only one I can think of right now😉). What about you?
<p style=”text-align: left;”> Your book sounds awesome!! I tried to write one with my sister, but it didn’t work out very well…😂</p>
my favorite subject is either physics or geometry, because of my awesome teachers. I don’t think of myself as a math person, but it all depends on the teachers!! 😉The BBC one definitely—I liked the Keira Knightley one, but Colin Firth is just so good!!😍 Do you have a preference?

-gladiator, 2000September 15, 2020 at 7:41 pm #84964Ooh! I keep hearing about the Wingfeather Saga, but I haven’t read it yet. It’s super high on my “to-read list” 🙂
I grew up with The Chronicles of Narnia and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, so those are probably my top fantasy books.
Oh wow! You like physics and geometry too! That’s cool. I enjoyed those back when I took them. (At least, I enjoyed them more than chemistry :P)
I prefer the Colin Firth adaption (mainly because I’ve watched that one more times). I’ve only seen the 2005 version once, but I do really enjoy Keira Knightly as Elizabeth XD

@nova21 Good answers, girl! 😊
Don’t back into any corners at all–tea is certainly the preferred drink, at least to this Georgia girl! And the beard–Lord help us all, it was terrible. (No offense to the beard-lovers out there, but the only Marvel superhero who can have facial hair is Tony. Period. I love ya, man! RIP.) There are a lot of P&P fans out there–why am I the only one’s who’s only seen the movie?? (I’m so uncultured!)
Did you just say Margaret Mitchell? As in THE MARGARET MITCHELL who only wrote one book, GONE WITH THE WIND, MARGARET MITCHELL??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Girl, you are my new best friend for life!!!!!!!!! I am a GwtW lover (although–sorry, y’all–the movie was better…I mean, that’s cinema at it’s finest right there) and come from a long line of GwtW lovers and happen to have a couple friends/family members who are GwtW lovers…who all are 50+, so I’m kind of alone in the younger-than-50-but-still-love-GwtW category. I mean, I ADORE Rhett, so much so that I invented my own version of him for a series, and keep trying to convince my other family (as in, the not fans) into loving him–er, it–as much as I do. And I’m currently the only advocate for a Gone with the Wind reading/discussion week on KP, since I’m like the only fan on here, and no one’s signed my petition for GwtW awareness yet, so, please, sign your name and spread the Georgia love!
Oh, and the cafe is an ongoing joke around here. It took me a minute to get it too. No cafe–or any other outrageous things (like indoor swimming pools or pet monkeys named Jack) that KaPeefers may mention–exists, but if you don’t mind using your imagination, then I suggest having a cup of Earl Grey with me. Oh, and here’s a butterscotch blondie. They’re all the rage lately. 😉
September 16, 2020 at 3:45 pm #84984@nova21 I’m afraid I have a horrid memory, but I’m sure I’ll remember you soon enough, if you’ll prompt me XD
I used to be quite active on SE but lately I’ve been mostly on KP. Different atmosphere’s, y’know?
Anyway, what’s your favorite flavor of ice cream? Favorite movies? Any Youtube channels you like?
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know

I loved GWTW!!😍 Margaret Mitchell was an AMAZING author! My favorite character was Melanie—I didn’t like her towards the beginning, but at the end, she was so. incredible. 😉
oh. Duh. 🤦♀️😂 *slurps the Earl Grey tea with a sigh of pleasure * 😉
Oh, you probably don’t remember me because I’m fairly recent on SE—no worries. 😉
yeah, I get it; I found KP when I was looking for another writing group.
Anyway, what’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Strawberry.
Favorite movies?
Probably the Bourne movies, Inception, Pride and Prejudice (BBC), and Christopher Robin. 🤣
Any Youtube channels you like?
Eh, I don’t really watch YouTube that much. Do you have a favorite channel? Oh and I noticed that you’re into anime—do you watch it or draw it or both?

-gladiator, 2000September 17, 2020 at 7:57 pm #84992@nova21 Oh, haha, I see.
You like strawberry? That’s cool; I recently decided that I like coffee best, and I’ve always had the notion that coffee and strawberry would go really well together.
Ooh, I really like Inception! Definitely one of my top favorites.
I really like Studio C. They’re a clean comedy channel that happens to be run by BYU…but at least it’s clean comedy, amiright? XD
I actually don’t have that much time to watch anime so I read manga instead…but when I can I watch it. When I used to draw I always wanted to draw in the style, though I’m afraid I can only follow references or draw an eye at most now. Do you watch any series?

@nova21 Yes! I’m so happy!!! 😁😄🤗 MM really was amazing–as an author, that is, not a person. 😔 And Melanie–RIP, Olivia–was definitely the best character. Perfect example of how all people should be. But, Rhett? Oh, Rhett! (And, yes, I was trying to sound like Scarlett there.) I love me some Rhett Butler.
Have you seen the movie?
September 18, 2020 at 1:35 pm #84994Oh yes, Inception is definitely a top tier Movie. And the score is amazing. Christopher Robin is such a sweet movie! One of the few Disney Live-action that wasn’t horrible. RIP Mulan, Lion King, and other adaptation failures. The BBC adaptation of P&P! That series is so nostalgic for me. I remember watching it with my older sisters when I was little. I actually haven’t watched any of the Bourne movies, but it’s definitely on my “to watch” list.
And cheers to your Earl Gray! *sips delicious tea along with you* One of my all-time favorite teas, along with Hibiscus and Matcha. Do you have any other favorite teas?
Coffee ice cream is underappreciated. Coffee is one of my favorites along with salted caramel and Pistachio.
I used to watch so much Studio C! But I stopped when they got a new cast. It just wasn’t the same when they left.
I get what you mean by just drawing the eyes. The ratio between eyes I’ve drawn and complete faces is vastly unproportionate. XD Do you like to draw certain characters from manga or make up your own?

September 18, 2020 at 4:16 pm #85004Yeah, coffee ice cream is really underrated! Pistachio is also cool, though I haven’t had much salted caramel. I’ll have to try it some time.
Yeah, the new cast definitely have a different feel about them. It took some getting used to, but they have come out with a couple that I think are on par with the old cast’s. And we can still see the old cast on JK! Studios, though that also feels different.
I very rarely think to myself, oh, hey, I want to draw so-and-so, actually. Only done that like…two times. And then I never really make up characters that stay the same, either. Maybe occasionally when I’m trying to draw a persona for myself…but yeah.

If hours don't turn into daysSeptember 18, 2020 at 7:27 pm #85005Oh, I forgot about Studio C!! I love them! My favorite one is probably the Prom dress gone wrong. 🤣🤣 Or Scott Sterling. Oh, and Dude Perfect is good too.
I never really got into anime or manga, but I did read a series my cousin had called Amulet (don’t know if you’ve heard of that or not).
Maybe strawberry and coffee are good together… you should try it. 😉

So true!! 🤣 (I did like the Cinderella one though.)
I like Sleepytime and spiced chai tea the best, I think.
I love pistachio ice cream!! 😍😆

-gladiator, 2000September 19, 2020 at 8:23 am #85009@nova21 Ah, yes, the Prom Dress one was quite a classic. I love it when they do collabs. And I’ve watched a couple of Dude Perfect’s videos before, a long, long, time ago…
Amulet? Sounds a little familiar. Not sure, though.
Anything else you like to do besides writing?

Sorry for not responding earlier! I think I skipped over your post on accident…😬
I haven’t seen the movie, only because it’s so long and my family is half-boys. 😉 I really want to though!! How long did it take you to read the book? I think it took me a week or two.
I love playing basketball and working out, drawing, and lots of other things that I can’t think of…😂😂 I’m pretty busy right now with school, so I don’t have much time to do a lot of stuff.

@nova21 That’s fine! My family is almost half-boys as well (I have three brothers), so it took some convincing to get them to all sit and watch the movie. That, and it’s like three hours long, so… It was SO good, though. Even better than the book–though not everyone agrees with me on that. Vivien Leigh made the most amazing Scarlett, bringing her to life like no one else. And Clark Gable as Rhett? Swoon! Olivia de Havilland was Melanie, and she was truly the kindest soul and really made the movie for me. Ashley, on the other hand, bleck.
I suggest negotiating with your stubborn–er, male family members–let them watch some long, boring movie of their own, then force them to sit through Gone with the Wind. Or else just kick them out for the day! 😉
I don’t remember how long it took–it’s been about two years. I borrowed my grandmother’s copy, so anywhere between three days and two weeks. Definitely the longest it’s taken me to read something. But, then, it’s a big book. What was your favorite part?
September 19, 2020 at 5:35 pm #85017@gracie-j
Ashley was horrible!! 🤢 Why did Scarlett even like him?!

Hey, that’s a good idea! 😉
My favorite part of GWTW was probably when Scarlett and Melanie were going back to Tara and they started to bond through all the hardships. And, of course, Scarlett’s curtain dress!! 😂
