August 9, 2017 at 1:52 pm #39492@That_Writer_Girl_99 *blinks* … There is nothing in the world that screams Texas more than salsa. Trust me, I lived there.

TED CRUZ for one thing.
And heat, fire ants, mosquitoes, and dust. And I’m not abusing it, I’m a Texan. XD But we live in OH now.August 9, 2017 at 2:53 pm #39521Anonymous

@kate-flournoy I totally forgot about the salsa. That is very Texas. Especially where I live. Oh, and fire ants. Those things are everywhere!
@that_writer_girl_99 In south Texas, salsa and mexican food are highly consumed. Probably about a third of the population is hispanic where I live.
@emma-flournoy Mosquitoes are the worst aren’t they? Especially if you leave your kiddy pool filled up with water over night ?. We don’t have that problem any more, because we have a real pool, but I remember it being a big issue. Ted Cruz–great one! I wouldn’t have thought of that, although we (my fam and I) are big fans.August 9, 2017 at 3:16 pm #39546@Shannon I’ve been to Texas before, so maybe that skews my view of it, but when I think Texas, I think… Heartiness, I guess. Big family gatherings and songs around campfires. Rodeos and wind and barbecues and big guys with hats. That kind of thing.

@ethryndal It’s Ok that you’ve never been here. I especially wanted the perspective of those who haven’t visited this state. The wind is one of my favorite things about TX. And the Rodeos! Thanks!

@shannon Yeah, I was a bit confused when you tagged me ?
August 9, 2017 at 5:12 pm #39602@shannon dust, dirt, mountains, grass, little gas stations in the middle of nowhere, little small cactuses, and the shape of Texas with a cowboy hat leaning on the tip. 😀
August 9, 2017 at 5:13 pm #39603@shannon I don’t know if it makes any difference, but I’ve been to Texas a couple times. 😀

Thanks @Kina-Lamb! That’s great. No it doesn’t make any difference. I want both perspectives.
