      @daughteroftheking We generally don’t pronounce the ‘r’s at the end of words. XD
      So, ‘car’ would be ‘cah’. ‘Toaster’ would be ‘toastah.’
      However, we pronounce ‘Australia’ as ‘Straya’.

        @DaughterOfTheKing as The Impossible Girl said. XP And in the middle of words too. Things like ‘snark’ we pronounce as ‘snah-k’ (more like snack, because snacks are good. XD). The name ‘martha’ we pronounce ‘mah-tha’
        I personally would pronounce Australia as ‘eh-strayl-yah’ (with the ‘l’ only barely present.)
        Some Rs we do say though. Like all words starting with R, or things like ‘thrill’ for example. It’s kind of just mix and match sometimes there’s an R sometimes there isn’t. XD

          Wow @jane-maree and @f5a8c3e92, that is really interesting. Isn’t an Australian accent pretty similar to an English accent? Since Australian was populated by English settlers maybe the accents would be similar (although America was colonized by the British too, and we don’t talk at all like Brits.). Maybe I’m making this all up, but the accents do sound a little bit similar to me.

            @Shannon in some ways it’s similar to British. But in others it’s absolutely not at all. XD It’s complicated. XP

                  @shannon Everything’s bigger in? πŸ˜‰ XD

                  Big hats, big belt buckles, big accents (well, not big, but thick) Uhm… I don’t generally think cowboys, but I like the idea πŸ˜‰ I also think of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on the Muppet Show, and Dale singing Deep in the Heart of Texas πŸ˜€

                    @Shannon Well, er, honestly? XD The only things that come to mind are the Texans football team’s symbol-thingy and this historical fiction book I read about the Dust Bowl when I was younger.(Although I think the Dust Bowl was actually more in New Mexico….? I honestly don’t know. XD) Oh, and heat, lotsa heat. πŸ˜›

                    *is probably geeking out about something*

                      @perfectfifths Do you live here? You seem to know a lot about it. Big hats and fancy belt buckles are everywhere here!

                      @graciegirl
                      Interesting that so many people think of the Dallas Cowboys when they think of Texas.

                      Oh, and heat, lotsa heat. πŸ˜›

                      Yes, that is Texas. They say that the seasons here are summer, summer, summer, fall

                      Thanks guys!

                                @jane-maree Wow! You say Australia as that? I would say it as Awe-stray-lee-uh.
                                Actually, the way you pronounce things without an ‘r’ reminds me of a New York accent.
                                @shannon I suppose there are those. πŸ˜›

                                  @emily Ok, I know you live in the same house as me, but, hey, it’s interesting to get your siblings perspectives. I guess I could have just asked you.
