“If you could have a mythological creature as a writing partner which would it be? How would your stories change by them contributing?”

This may sound like a strange answer, but my choice is a Pegasus.

One, because they’re super cool. Two, I love horses. Three, flying sounds AWESOME. Four Pegusi seem smart and creative. Five, they seem like the type to enjoy a quiet afternoon writing with a cup of tea.

How would my writing change? Well, I think I’d have a lot more cool story ideas from flying around the world and seeing all sorts of interesting things. And I think I’ll be a lot more consistent with writing a bunch because I have a literal Pegasus keeping me accountable. XD

What about you? What mythological creature you’d you like as a partner? And how would your writing change because of it?

sphinx. For all the same reasons. Plus, they speak in riddles, which would exercise my brain on a routine basis and potentially help me come up with more creative phrases to replace cliches because I could practice giving unexpected but accurate answers to said riddles. Plus, sphinxes are underappreciated and I like underappreciated mythological creatures. XD

          I would say a griffon.

I suppose the myths vary on what they are like, but I’d choose a griffon because they’re rarely mentioned in any fantasy that I have read, also, they’re treasure guardians.

I’d have a friend forever, and likely they’d let me see all their treasure, and where their hideouts are, and baby griffons would be so cute.

I’d also like it because they can fly and so I’d get to see places without all the travel costs of planes, see different cultures and that would help me improve my writing.

I have a feeling if one was my writing companion, the hero would always win and be victorious no matter the odds because griffons are guardians and fiercely protective XD.

I’d want one that can talk, and that would be even cooler because they can tell me all their stories and adventures!!

Also, I have relatives with the last name Griffin, and their crest is so stinking cool!!

@kathleenramm Mm, I’ve always loved dragons. But after much consideration I’ve realised that a dragon would burn my papers to a crisp. Which is why I’m going for an eastern dragon. They can’t breathe fire (most, at least), they’re super duper cool, they can fly and take me places, they can fly up to the celestial heavens and talk with the celestial beings for more story ideas, and they’re also super intelligent and pretty and cool overall. A dragon could probably help me write more eastern fantasy stuff, I think.

I’d choose a dragon, I think. I have one in my main WIP, so it’d be great to get its perspective on whether or not I’m writing one correctly. 😛

I have to agree with you about the Pegasus, honestly! I’ve always adored Pegasi and would love to include one in a story someday. And yes, I’m sure they would make interesting writing companions XD Who wouldn’t want to have a cup of coffee with a Pegasus during a writing session? I know I would!:)

However, I think I would choose a phoenix as my writing partner. Their red and golden feathers are just so gorgeous! It would be so neat to write with a phoenix and have it give me some writerly advice and how to fix plot holes XD So yup, probably a phoenix for me:)
