Aw, thank you!! <3 I like creating character arcs that are very drastic–where the character looks (and feels) like an entirely new character at the end, having learned life-changing lessons. Normally, I like to create redemption arcs. There’s something so heartwarming about watching a previously evil character become redeemed (again, a drastic character arc). I also like using other, less prominent characters to influence character arcs, like how my MC’s brother helps her to learn those lessons and become a better person. Oh, and also I enjoy making arcs realistic, so that hopefully I can show the reader that they can become better people through these lessons too, no matter who they are.
I hope that made sense–although I’m a writer, sometimes I’m not the best with words…
April 12, 2021 at 5:20 pm #97515I agree! 🙂
I’m co-writing with my best friend (who also doubles as one of my cousins😉), and I am also co-writing a novel with another one of my friends. In my main WIP, I’m doing the writing as I have more free time, and my cousin is editing. In the novel I’m writing with my other friend, we mapped out the plot line together, and, while we don’t write together, we send our scenes back and forth for feedback. It’s a lot of fun! It’s nice to have someone to bounce ideas off. 🙂

I have a few WIPs right now, some that I’m not serious about, but a couple more that I’m very invested. My main WIP is my sci-fi romance novel, where I’m very excited about worldbuilding! I’m a huge culture fanatic, so I work hardest on building the community and world I’ve imagined. It features a bunch of different kingdoms, with my novel focusing on the princesses all meeting each other for the first time, and it’s great crafting the kingdoms’ cultures.
Currently I’m working on language and communication for my darlings! Giving them accents and verbal quirks, a different language for each kingdom. (Of course there’s a common language that everyone’s fluent in so they can communicate.) I get to see my characters grow on the page. It’s amazing to go back through my rough draft and add in their quirks and little worldbuilding details that I didn’t think about the first time I wrote it!
If you ask me about my book, I will talk for hours. Have a nice day!😊

April 14, 2021 at 11:50 pm #97822Working on the older character has actually not been too difficult. In fact, she’s the one character in this plotline who’s coming across the way she’s supposed to, and writing the POV character with her actually made him work better, too. XD So that’s been pretty cool. I created this character over a decade ago, though, so I know her pretty well even though I’d only written her as a child prior to this. 🙂
