I looked up this Forum thread for something that happened to me today xD
So I was world-building on this whiteboard and I drew this blob as an outline for my country/city, and my brother, joking the blob was meant to be a head, gave it a face and a stick-figure body, and I decided to do further world-building in my notebook and my notebook only ๐

@daeus XD Lol. You may have heard of that book. It’s a fairly popular fantasy… go to a bookstore or a library or Amazon and ask for stuff by Tolkien and it should be in the results…
Right. XD As long as they get a taste of what your story’s about, and the premise sounds interesting, it’s usually fine if your summary sounds like something off a cereal box…

@jessi-rae I thought the same thing! JOIN THE FORUMS PLZZZZ!!!!
And the explaining….*earth-shaking groan*….If I offhandedly mention my book in public, and someone says, “Oh cool! What’s it about?” I have a scripted response to prevent complete rambling.
“It’s a fantasy book, and it’s got dragons and stuff.”
No one really asks any questions after that, and if they do, THEN I go into ULTIMATE RAMBLE MODE. And then I stop talking like 15 minutes later and I say, “Did you understand any of that?”
“Uh….not really. Sorry.”
“It’s fine. I’m a writer. I get thisย a lot.”
