I wish, @daeus . Fiction would be easier! No, I’m writing something informational for a website. I’ve never really done anything like this before, so I’m a bit intimidated by it. :/
Golly, all of y’alls’ projects sound way more fun than mine! @kate-flournoy , @rolena-hatfield
April 26, 2016 at 4:36 pm #11838At the moment @overcomer I’m working on a short story about the three little kittens who lost their mittens. Well, they didn’t actually, they traded them for hot cross buns from the hot cross buns man. So, I don’t know if you can tell from that, but they are going to town and the other nursery rhymes enter the story. Such as ‘pussy in the well.’ That’s become one of the kittens for me. π

April 26, 2016 at 4:53 pm #11847@bluejay, that story sounds so cute! I never thought of having all the nursery rhymes come together, but that is a great idea…*psst* Add in the Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe π
April 26, 2016 at 4:56 pm #11850@faithdk Alright. I’ll fit her in there somewhere. π
April 26, 2016 at 5:04 pm #11852Yes! π Because who doesn’t love her, right? Poor old woman… she had so many children… *sigh*
April 26, 2016 at 5:13 pm #11856@kate-flournoy 108 chapters left to go? Oh dear… π And I thought correcting fifty some chapters took awhile.
INTJ - Inhumane. No-feelings. Terrible. Judgment and doom on everyone.
April 26, 2016 at 7:08 pm #11875@hope Yeshhhh… it’s going to be interesting. π The goal is to cut it down to below a hundred by the time I’m done rewriting, but who knows if that’ll pan out.
And I thought rewriting my novella took a while. Wow!
@Daeus wish me luck. You don’t get it until I’m done… π- This reply was modified 8 years, 8 months ago by Kate Flournoy.

April 26, 2016 at 7:36 pm #11880Luck dust? Hey, I didn’t know there was such a thing. How handy! π
May 7, 2016 at 3:12 pm #12587I have this thrill right now. This didn’t really happen to me so much with my novella, but I just completed my 35 chapter novel. Boy, it feels good. I think I need about 300 lb. of frozen raspberries to celebrate.

May 7, 2016 at 3:16 pm #12589@Daeus CONGRATULATIONS!!!! *throws rainbow-colored confetti, screams with excitement*
I know that thrill very well. πCareful. You might turn into a frozen raspberry yourself if you eat that much.
So what did you most enjoy about this experience— your first full novel, wasn’t it?
May 7, 2016 at 3:27 pm #12590@Daeus Awesome!!! Congratulations! That is quite an accomplishment. π
May 7, 2016 at 3:40 pm #12591Thanks. I’m like wow. This is over. That’s awesome. That’s terrible. Wait, it’s not over. I’ll probably be editing for months now.
What was my favorite part? Why the hard questions?! Well, probably plotting, because plotting is a strong point for me and it’s really neat whenever I make a big breakthrough there. And then there’s writing the really good scenes. And then the really cool characters who just pop out. And then daydreaming of how my editing process is going to make it ever so much better. So yeah. That’ my favorite thing.
Oh yeah, and it is my first novel.

Hahaha @Daeus that was exactly my reaction when I finished my latest. π
Wow, so you like plotting? That’s an enormous plus… I’m kinda bad at that myself. Characters are definitely the highlight for me. And daydreaming about how the editing process is going to make it better— yes! So much yes! π
And I’ve actually been surprised how easy it is to realize editing daydreams. I mean, I’ve been editing for about a month now, and already I’ve made it soooooooo much better… I shocked myself with it, actually. It doesn’t take much effort— just cleverness, a clear head, and determination. I think I have at least one of those… maybe… possibly… π But good luck with editing just the same!May 7, 2016 at 4:02 pm #12593Congratulations @Daeus! It feels so wonderful getting a novel done. Also, I highly recommend throwing some of those raspberries in a vita-mix with yogurt and grinding it up into a frozen fruit shake. I’ve tried it with strawberries and it is delicious!
