      Wow @bluejay congratulations!!!!!!! So happy for you!

      Um… more brilliant ideas? Oh boy… *think. think. think think think* Write a story about a beggar who dreams of saving the kingdom and marrying the princess? There’s only one catch— he’s a dragon.
      Oh boy that is lousy.

      Uuuuummmmmmm… gimme a bit to think it over, please? πŸ˜€ I’ll let you know if I come up with anything. You really enjoyed working with the conch idea, then?

                  Guess what? I was reading my “Golden Conch” story to my younger sister and five minutes later she was crying!!! I’m so happy. πŸ™‚ To be honest, she wasn’t poring tears, but she was upset. That is the first time a story has ever done that to anyone in my family. *Jumps for joy, while trying to comfort sister* **Sundaes for everyone again** πŸ˜€

                    Congratulations @bluejay. I haven’t done that myself yet.

                      @Bluejay that’s awesome! I’m afraid I’ve done that far too often to @Emma-Flournoy. I even managed to make her cry over the death of a villain once, which quite honestly utterly shocked me. πŸ˜› I didn’t think I’d made it THAT heartrending. πŸ˜‰

                      And she’s no crybaby either.

                      It’s so satisfying, isn’t it? To know you have that power. πŸ˜€

                        @Bluejay Wonderful job! Making your readers cry is quite a feat. πŸ˜‰ I’ve only accomplished it a couple times, myself. It’s so hard because sometimes, when you think you’re writing something moving, sometimes the reader will get a different impression…like thinking something is funny, when it wasn’t meant to be. *sigh*

                          @Kate-Flournoy

                          I’ve told you before. It wasn’t just that he died—it was the circumstances and relationship it had to do with. So there. It’s so embarrassing that I cried over a villain. But hey, I guess there are no rules against doing that…it was a really good cry, at any rate. πŸ™‚ Though matters were not helped by the fact that you were sitting across the room watching me.

                          Never forget the great power you wield over your readers’ emotions, people. It can do some…well, powerful stuff. πŸ˜‰

                            @kate-flournoy
                            *evil grin* Ah yes, power. Well, I continued reading it to her and I could hardly stop laughing. The King, who dies, made her think of someone she knows and so she gets really sad when he’s mentioned. And at one point in the story Claudia throws the golden conch that her father gave her. My sister made me leap a mile when she yelled out “NO!” She was so scared that it would break.
                            And she got the right feelings for the General too. She said to me, “I don’t like him. I really don’t like him.”
                            *So happy*

                            @emma-flournoy
                            Definitely no rule against crying over a villain. I think I’ve done that too, but I can’t remember what book it was. (Or it might have been a movie) And yes, it is never nice to have someone watching you cry. My family does that to me all the time.

                            @gretald
                            Yes, so many times I have written stories that I think are powerful and heart touching and my family never shed a tear. πŸ™

                            @daeus
                            Thanks, keep trying. It will happen. I speak from experience. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

                              @Emma-Flournoy it’s not embarrassing at all. It just means I handled it how it should have been handled. So it’s my fault. πŸ˜‰

                              And if it’s any comfort, it makes me very happy when you cry over my work. Doesn’t that make you feel better?? Hm??? *hysterical laughter*

                                Actually, it does make me feel better. Because I can imagine how great I’d feel if I wrote something and you cried over it. Like that would ever happen.
                                That would be pretty great, by the way. XD

                                Oh good, @blue-jay. Glad to know I’m not alone. πŸ˜‰
