Hello KeePers/KaPeeFers!! I wrote this ballad a long while back, and Iβm kinda proud of it, because it had a difficult rhyme scheme. π Enjoy!
The Red Dragon
I was on my way to fight a red dragon
When I met a peddler pulling a wagon.
I asked him for wine and he gave me his flagon
And said, βYou will need that to fight the red dragon.ββHow,β said I, βdid you know of my quest?
And as for the wine, I havenβt yet guessed
How it could help; why, surely you jest
And seek to make fun of this serious quest.ββI do not jest, nay, I give you a clue,
And if you make fun, then shame upon you!
βTis this magical flagon, not homemade brew
That will aid you; there! that is my clue.βI went on my way to fight the red dragon
Leaving behind the peddlerβs wagon.
And long I looked at the magical flagonβ
How would this help me to fight the red dragon? At the foot of the mountain I encountered a ranger
At least so he said, the devious stranger.
And he looked at my flagon, and I knew there was danger
If it fell in the hands of a renegade ranger.Soon we were locked in a furious tussle
And the ranger, he used all his might and his muscle
Till the dragon flew down, with a furious hustle
And left me alone with myself and the tussle. Then I went with all haste to the lair of the dragon,
And bethought myself there of the peddlerβs wagon
And pondered the use of the magical flagon
And how I would use it to kill the red dragon. Then in came the dragon, with a powerful roar
He had seven horns, and tusks like a boar,
And three spiky tails, and eyes? he had four;
But most terrifying of all was his deafening roar! Then he saw me, and turned, and swiped with his paw
And threatening to eat me, opened his jaw.
Then I hurled the flagon right into his maw
And POOF! went the dragon, tusk, horn, and paw.Thatβs how I conquered the mighty red dragon
With advice from the peddler who pulled a wagon
And lent unto me his magical flagonβ
Thatβs all I used to kill the red dragon.π°π»π¦π₯
