You have washed ashore on an Island. There are tangled woods, high cliffs, sandy beaches, an ancient ruin, and more, so much more. In fact, no one knows the extent of what this island holds. Your mission: survival.
- Only animal Characters. Humans do not exist. Sorry.
- While it might be a powerfully symbolic move, and maybe something a villain may threaten to do, there will be no actual eating of characters.
- No characters may leave the Island unless returning home thus leaving the Role Play.
- The Island is not magical, sentient, or enchanted, but wild, unexplored, and untamed. And that is often enough.
- Nothing graphic, profane, ect., Blah-blah-blah, high-diddly de de de…the regular KP guidelines.
- Again, this is an RP for animal characters, whether regular, more fantastic, or even magical. All three and in between are accepted.
- To join, post a short character description and their first POV, aka how they washed up on the Island.
- Adventure waits for no one, but storylines do. So post and reply at your own pace.
Now to Adventure!

Fork the GorkAugust 23, 2023 at 10:48 pm #154545@livingwoodchronicles I’m tagging you because I know you’re one of us few who’ve got some animal characters, but don’t feel like you have to join.
@keilah-h Here it is if you’d like to join! (And even if you can’t I suppose here it still is)
@Elishavet-Pidyon Ahoy! It is done!First Grand Historian of Arreth and the Lesser Realms (aka Kitty)
Fork the GorkAugust 24, 2023 at 10:36 am #154553@koshka GASP!!! THIS IS SO COOL!!! Mind if i join? Also, quick question! No humans allowed, but are they able to be mentioned? Or no?
Cuz with my Nyx, he’ll obviously be missing his girl/bestie, Lyn.

#ProtectSebAugust 24, 2023 at 11:13 am #154577Yes you can join!
Nix can probably mention humans, although no one is likely to understand him, most likely thinking of Lyn as a larger fox. Which could be interesting, come to think of it…

The eldest son of Vratislav and Mila Kholmov, he was born a few minutes before his brother. He is currently in training for soldiery just like every male youth in the kingdom, and he’s done well here, being chosen for a special training force that will form him for the higher ranks. But if he ever gets his choice…
Description: A young black wolf with molten gold eyes and faint charcoal markings. A bit on the smaller side of his tribe (Kholmov), he’s about regular height for a wolf. Built light and limber and developing the strong shoulders of an archer.
Wearing the white raw-silk tunic-shirt, gray trousers, and cloak of a training soldier, with a scarlet armband. A slightly curved sword hangs from his belt along with a long knife stuck in said belt. A recurve bow case and quiver are at his right shoulder.
Other: carries a few wood carving knives in a leather satchel, along with some daily rations.
Vulkasin Vrativich Kholmov
The second born twin and youngest of his family, he’s always dreaming of being a Sotnik like his father, a master of war and trusted leader of an army. But now that he’s getting a glimpse of the outer world, he’s not so sure that he likes it, or that it likes him.
Description: a light tan with dark red-brown markings and pale yellow eyes. Built like his father, he’s taller than every other member of his pack, a position that would give him a road to dominance if it doesn’t get him killed first.
Wearing the white raw-silk tunic-shirt, gray trousers, and cloak of a training soldier, and no armband. A long curved sword hangs from his belt, balanced by a one-sided ax on his right hip. A hunting knife, a few rations, and a scroll of bark paper are jumbled together with a random assortment of other things in his satchel.
(Fun fact: raw-silk cloth is difficult for an arrow to pierce, thus meaning cleaner wounds and faster healing time for any army that used it)

Treeknife. It’s what he is and what he will be as far down the road as he can see. It was a Treeknife that found him as a tiny kit, and it was a Treeknife who raised him up to be the squirrel he is. Oakorn was everything – a father, a mentor, and a friend. Little does Dalton realize, he was everything to that old Treeknife in return: a breath of life, a sense of purpose, and a spark of hope. The skills passed to the little black furred squirrel were Oakorn’s own life story.
The Wood has fallen. The Treeknives are a scattered, dying kind. Life is a dangerously chaotic thing for the now defenseless Wood Dwellers, and there’s not much one lonely, undersized Treeknife can do.
Does hope still linger in the Legend of Belirein?
Small for a squirrel with soft black fur and gleaming black eyes. He wears a green cloak and a wide woven belt in which he has tucked at least five knives of varying lengths. The shortest is hardly as long as his paw while the longest is the length of his arm. Along with the knives, he probably has a sling, a few stones, a packet of nuts and berries, a forged ring; anything he think useful. A hardwood staff is in his paws. (The Treeknives have a military use for everything.)
Tripkin
Books are wonderful. Hidden in their yellowed pages lie the whispers of a hundred ages past. Of course not everyone believes that, so Tripkin can get a little touchy about his job working for the Ivan the Scholar. What folk often forget is that the twig-like old squirrel is brimful of adventures and ballads.
And Tripkin plans on having adventures of his own one day. One day soon. His parents say there’s nothing left for the Squiggle Things in Malty Wood, so why stay when there are stories like the Legend of Belirein calling you to look back and walk far?
Average size for a young gray squirrel, his only really noticeable features are his curious dark eyes.
And that’s them!
I’ll get to their intro RP in a bit.

August 24, 2023 at 1:27 pm #154609@koshka @elishavet-pidyon ah I’m so excited!! This is going to be sooo interesting because while Nyx has been around animals he’s mostly used to humans, and finds others animals/creatures a bit intimidating (so are some humans but yea) Also Grimm can transform into a wolf soooo and he and Grimm can a complicated relationship XD
also the fact that they wear cloaks and such XD and have weapons 🤣
this’ll be so fun.
plus I need to work on Nyx a bit anyway!

#ProtectSebAugust 24, 2023 at 1:56 pm #154611Nyx
This is basically how he looks-
Except he has gray-blue eyes and three tails! (Unless his eye color changes AGAIN) XDHe’s based off of fennec foxes and kitsunes. Basically a sort of fantasy creature, I haven’t figured out all the details out but yea. He can’t mentally communicate (or speak) in his own voice, but only to those he trusts or allows to hear him (though sometimes if he’s frightened or in distress, etc, his voice can be heard because his mind is unable to keep it closed off like usual.) but with animals it’s different (another reason he doesn’t care for other animals XD) as animals can usually already communicate with each other, depending on their own language, etc. so he usually can’t hide what he says. He dislikes this. A lot.
Nyx is feisty, tricky and very hot-headed. He’s distrustful of those he doesn’t know and it will take a while for him to warm up to you. He has a bit of a rough past, though it’s a bit foggy because he was so young.
His one shining light was being taken in by a man named Lander and gifted to a young girl named Jocelyn. Instead of being treated as a pet though, Nyx is treated like her best friend, and even as family. The two form a bond that cannot be easily severed, and despite their special differences, Nyx and Lyn become as close as siblings in their lives together.
Lyn is the only person Nyx trusts with the fullness of his heart and affections, though it’s still sometimes hard for him to show it.
He’s EXTREMELY loyal to her, and if you are able to gain his trust, he will be loyal to you and is a great ally to have.
He does have a…twisted sense of humor sometimes and is very sarcastic and cynical, as well as a bit pessimistic. Usually, Lyn is there to be the glass half full to his dark perspective.

#ProtectSebAugust 24, 2023 at 2:09 pm #154613Cool, love your character’s bios ❤️
What about a character who is mostly animal? As in, all animal sometimes, and changes back to partly human when interacting with humans, having human like thoughts, etc.
He’s kind of like a mythical faun.

August 24, 2023 at 2:35 pm #154614@godlyfantasy12 Nyxie is so cute/hilarious/kinda crazy. XD He’s awesome.
Yeah, my book is kinda similar to Green Ember or Red wall when it comes to the whole clothes and weapons stuff. (My foxes are kinda my favorite with kilts and dirks…)
Thanks!
If your character was only ever all-animal here it should be fine.
