:'( I’m stuck, I’m supposed to hit 5,000 words by the end of the day but I’m barely at 2,500 as I didn’t write much of anything yesterday because I was sick, but now I can’t get back into the flow of writing and knowing what is going to happen in the book.
@silverclaw-bonnetfolly Never fun being sick. It might help to read what you have so far. Get some context per say? Sometimes that is helpful for me. What could happen next? What is unlikely to happen (cause you could make that happen)? What would be funny? Or maybe you could go to the inspiration board? that could help you get ideas. Also you wrote some, you have more than before. You made progress. Yay! And you can write more tomorrow.

@silverclaw-bonnetfolly Do not despair! You aren’t the only person who hasn’t hit 5,000 words (me, I’m the other person).
And as for getting back into the flow, I agree with @catwing. Read over what you have already written. When I get stuck, I also like to get away from the computer for a little bit, and while I do other things, I talk to myself about what I want to happen next and I figure out how to get there. Don’t be afraid to take little breaks and take notice of when your brain/body is saying ‘I really need a break’, especially if you’re sick.

Don’t worry! My advice is a bit different… I just look over what I have planned when I am stuck, and move onto a different scene. Or have a word war. Both speed up the process. But make sure you are having fun writing it!Writer | Freelance Editor
