Great section!! I think you pulled it off. It doesn’t feel too odd or confusing. We are told when the time is passing by, and given a few details, and then the winter is over.
and the other down Julian’s back while he lay sleeping.
😂😂😂 Talk about a rude awakening!
I’m interested in Leon’s backstory more now. He seems to be hiding something from Julian and the others. It will be interesting to see him go back to where he used to fight.

February 28, 2025 at 11:18 am #198748@ellette-giselle the style you’ve taken for that latest section is interesting! although I’m a little confused, are these letters to someone or more like journal entries?

February 28, 2025 at 11:19 am #198749also, the half-Roman, half-German culture is honestly really cool. Do you think you’ll create a hybrid Latin-Germanic language for them? (It’s not like English isn’t already basically that though, lol)

February 28, 2025 at 11:26 am #198752“When I read the gospels, it was clear that they were written by four different men, and that being so, those four different men record what they saw, how they saw it, and what details they believe were most important,” Heinrich explained. “Matthew, for instance, has a long genealogy in the beginning of his account and writes everything in a clear and orderly fashion, often referring to prophesies of old to prove who Jesus was. Luke has very detailed and numerous accounts of miracles concerning healing and the raising of the dead. Mark seems most interested in the action and drive of the main events, and his account is by far the shortest and has a fast pace. John seems to care deeply about the personality of Jesus and often draws our attention to it. While some might say that since they differ it must be untrue, I say this strongly points to the truth. If all the accounts were completely identical, then there would be only two possibilities; these four men collaborated and created this story together, or one man wrote under the names of four different men. When many witnesses say the exact same thing, you must become suspicious if you have any sense,”
This Heinrich guy is very logical. I like that for some reason. I think it reminds me of my brother and how he says he views the world. Johannes had some great points too.

Lolol.
Well, Leon was hit in the face!!

idk if I’d say hiding it as much as hates to talk about it, but yeah. It honestly has to do with how he even came to a place where he was willing to believe in God.
And it has a lot to do with–––––
Anyhow. It will be intriguing to see him where he used to compete. Although these were qualification fights to actually enter the tournament.
The tournament is held in the Capital.
Hey!!! Nice to see you! Wasn’t sure if you were still reading.
although I’m a little confused, are these letters to someone or more like journal entries?
These are journal entries.
It makes more sense when you see it with the proper formatting. But that won’t transfer onto KP
also, the half-Roman, half-German culture is honestly really cool. Do you think you’ll create a hybrid Latin-Germanic language for them? (It’s not like English isn’t already basically that though, lol)
I’m glad you like it! It’s a lot of fun to write!
Well, they speak the Common tongue as does Ardenta and Vendalia. And most of the rest of the known world…… it makes the language barriers easier. XD

I love those two! They have all the Roman philosopher feel to them. I really enjoy those types of characters. I always imagined a modern-day Heinrich would walk around in a trench coat with glasses and would most likely have a spattering of freckles. 😂😂
idk why I even imagined him in modern time, but I do that sometimes. Ya know, what would the character look like if you ran into them at the store.

You’re just going to leave me hanging? XD
Ahh, gotcha.

February 28, 2025 at 12:03 pm #198756@ellette-giselle ehh sometimes the chapters get buried in my emails cause I’m busy and don’t get the chance to read them. When you post a new one then I’m able to go back through the ones I’ve missed.

LOL that’s great.

So since our Bible and month system is “canon” to their world, as well as the cultures you’ve picked for each country, I’m assuming this means your story’s setting is basically an alternate Europe. Is the Common Tongue an English equivalent or something else?
These are journal entries.

ohhhhh ok! I like the style, it makes it different than the other two.

yeah, just about.
Yes, English.

Good. That’s the goal.

February 28, 2025 at 12:10 pm #198758yeah, just about.
very cool!! what time period exactly? Evidently empires and kingdoms are still a thing, and they don’t have any form of electricity yet.

February 28, 2025 at 12:16 pm #198759Oh, so you did actually make them stay. But you’re zooming through this as well in order not to interfere with the pacing. That works.
It was late one evening and Julian was wandering aimlessly through the halls of the University.
I’m glad for this scene. Before I read this section, I was hoping your next section would have something like it. We’ve had many scenes of preaching the gospel, people rejecting it or being saved, and journal entries. So, getting a break and some more hints at Leon’s backstory is good.
Oh Joseph, Beric, Amelia, little Mercy, Noah, Darrien, Asher, Eric, and Sabina, how I miss you all.
Question. It’s obvious this is the group they are closest to, but do Leon and Julian make any other Christian friends in Ardenta? Ones they made when they wandered the country for those 10 years?

February 28, 2025 at 12:17 pm #198760haha! Nope, no electricity.
It’s a mix. The more advanced kingdoms have a middle-ages feel, while the others are more Roman, old Britania, etc.

Phew, glad it works. XD

good to see everyone is enjoying this scene.
Wanna take a crack at what Leon’s not telling, or have ya got no idea?

yeesss…… but that would be a LONG list of names, and you as the reader wouldn’t know any of those names, whereas these names have characters belonging to them that you know well.
*shrug*

Not at the moment, no. I had some thoughts, but Julian already guessed them aloud. I’ll wait and see what else you reveal.
