I think that with Race to the Edge it was mostly surprising in how certain side characters actually had arcs (especially nowadays). It was also really cool how any developments in the show were used in the following movie— it actually tied in to the overall plot. And that was a level of thought that isn’t usually put in to spin-off shows.
Careful with all the burning, you don’t want to be the new fire lord.
I once found most of the show (the Last Airbender) on YouTube before, so you could check there.
We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good on, eh?

What are you talking about? I just want to destroy the non fans hope by raining a fire over their lands, and from the ashes, a new Avatar centered world would rise, a world where I… I mean… Avatar is the supreme ruler of everything!

I just looked into it, and it looks like you can find half of season 1, but everything else looks pretty sketchy on youtube. Do you know a particular channel that might have it?

AtLA was on Amazon Prime and Netflix last I checked. It might have been taken off since then, though.
🎵It takes a long time to wait 🌻
February 20, 2023 at 2:38 pm #133834@thearcaneaxiom About that…..
I watched maybe ONE episode of that at my grandparents’ house. My cousins put it on. I was kinda like “ehhh.” What does that make me?
@e-m-trepke I liked it! I greatly enjoyed most of the HTTYD spinoffs."When in doubt, eat cheese crackers."-me to my charries who don't even know about cheese crackers
February 20, 2023 at 2:56 pm #133839Yeah, it should be on those. @lightoverdarkness6 doesn’t have Netflix though, but she probably has access to prime.

February 20, 2023 at 2:58 pm #133841That depends on what episode you watched, but either way, you can’t make any judgement of the show based off of one episode, that’s like reading a random sentence of a book and saying it doesn’t have good prose.

February 20, 2023 at 3:28 pm #133846@thearcaneaxiom I get that. I might’ve just watched an “ehh” episode, y’know? I know there are some episodes in my favorite shows that if you watched those first before getting the story, you’d be like “Yeah, this is kinda lame.”
It was like two years ago so I don’t remember what the episode’s name was.
But hey, if a character from there is really good, he may find his way into a fanfic. One Warrior Cats fanfiction I wrote had Star Wars, Marvel, Jurassic World, Lord of the Rings, some other more obscure books and movies, a couple of characters from random places, and a boatload of OCs all together in one universe. They were all at different time periods but were often interrelated in weird ways.

February 20, 2023 at 3:38 pm #133851Yeah. Could you describe the episode though?
Yes, there are many fanfictions of Avatar, I don’t really pay much mind to them though, I’m a cannon guy. But there was this one where a 40 year old Azula met Spiderman, and they fell in love, that was interesting, not what I would do with Azula, but it’s there. XD

February 20, 2023 at 3:41 pm #133852@thearcaneaxiom Is there a metal kingdom? A group of characters went to something like that. Also one of the adult characters was injured or something. A wind one was like starting a rebellion, so he and a bunch of others were using their powers to totally wreck the authorities after them…..?
I’m pretty sure that was from the same story universe as you were describing.

February 20, 2023 at 3:45 pm #133857That sounds like Legends of Korra, the sequal series, and isn’t nearly as good. You need to properly meet Aang and the Gang. Not petty Korra who has no arch, and learns the same lesson over and over again, without actually learning said lesson and applying it for the entire 4 seasons.

February 20, 2023 at 3:48 pm #133861@thearcaneaxiom I see. I didn’t know there was more than one……..Shows like this aren’t my thing. I’ve actually found I prefer 3D animated shows sometimes. I think it’s because a lot of the trashy shows are 2D animated, although I’ve seen some decent 2D ones.

February 20, 2023 at 3:50 pm #133863I get that, but I can promise that this one isn’t trashy. There is actually some 3D animation implemented in some scenes, though it’s hard to notice because it’s implemented so well.

February 20, 2023 at 3:59 pm #133867@thearcaneaxiom I know, animation has gotten so good these days–2D or 3D. My dad said while watching a show a couple days ago, he noticed a detail even I didn’t while watching the same episode–one character had been swept downriver, and when he pulled himself up onto the bank, he actually lifted his glasses to drain out the water.
I thought it was kinda cool how the animators could include a detail like that.
(We were watching Star Wars: The Bad Batch if you want to know.)

February 20, 2023 at 4:05 pm #133873Yeah, but ultimately, animation is not what makes a good story. You can tell a really good story from pure visuals, but in most cases, people try using good visuals to make up for bad writing. In the case of Avatar, it’s good animation, and the animation gets better each season, and the writing goes far beyond that.

February 20, 2023 at 4:06 pm #133875@thearcaneaxiom Yes, that is true. The writing can be terrible and the animation can be good…..but I think that’s far more likely than the other way around (bad animation but good story), unless it’s a low-budget independent show/movie.
