"When in doubt, eat cheese crackers."-me to my charries who don't even know about cheese crackers
May 15, 2023 at 8:35 pm #143549Somehow I managed not to see this until now… I’ve done that twice in the past two days! 🤦♀️
XD
Doing well!
Glad to hear it!
What’s you WIP about? I feel like maybe I’ve heard of it (you might even have told me lol I have a terrible memory lol) but I’m drawing a blank…
Oh great question! I have multiple projects, but my main is a dystopian ya series (Hopefully to be graphic novels one day) it’s called the afterthoughts series. I’m working on book one (Afterthoughts of hate) off and on. It’s set about 250 or so years after a great war that desemated the earth. The characters are descended from part of the surviving rement, and live underground in mostly self sufficient bunkers. It is common beleif the outside world is inhospitable, as it was when they left. Tauren and Lesli live in the mining district. After a earthquake separates the labor districts from the proffesions districts (includes the government) Lesli’s dad proposes the idea the labor districts cede in rebellion of there low pay. He is so driven to right the wrongs that have been done to the labor districts in this sudden opportunity, that he throws caution and general sense to the wind. Tauren likes hiding in the background of general drama, and he never shows what side of the stance he is on, only wanting to be by Lesli’s side as the issue pulls her family apart. The escapes and ideas of perilous adventure they had drawn up as children seem all the more appealing to Lesli, but Tauren insists he doesn’t mind watching from the sidelines as their known world is turned over.
Ok, that was long. XD You have posted some of you wip here, or was that somebody else? I don’t have time to read it, but I would love to hear about it!
And (most importantly XD) who’s drowning in your pfp (I like the style btw)?
Ah yes that 🤦🏻♀️ my oc Kaine! My sweetest boi!! My curly haired—
Ok I’m done. That’s Kaine hoschild, he’s a character in my 3rd and 4rth. He’s super sweet, but because of his fear (Because of a accident his sister had awhile back) can come off pretty scary when he intends to. He never wants to hurt anyone, just wants to make sure they stay away so nothing bad can happen. He comes to a bit of a delima as she starts to fall in love with Layson, because he’s not sure he trusts Layson yet. He’s just super confused about what his role is in her life and where his duty to protect stretches and when to leave it to her and not worry. Idk if I will still include that scene or not, it’s pretty hard to explain. Best I can explain it as is that in a fit of confusion, fear, and dread, he jumped in the cold river to try to forget his current life. He’s not drowning and he can swim, he just made a rather rash decision in anger at his feelings.
Aww thank you! I drew it in photoshop. There’s a full picture of it way back in the art forum I think, it’s actually kinda big and shows all of him.
Also, I love the quote at the bottom of your posts! So true!

May 15, 2023 at 9:03 pm #143557GASP I love that so much!!! I like dystopian stories in general but that’s just awesome. I love the names too!
Yep, I’ve posted my WIP Healer. (I will keep my rant as short as possible XD) So, there are five races- the Lupinari (based off wolves), Arcanin (based off bears; they have magic, symbolized by the stars on their foreheads), Falcor (based off birds), Felisaro (based off cats), and the Serpenree (based off lizards; most are evil because of their leader Dragor. The Serpenree and Lupinari are more or less similar in shape to humans and walk on two legs). Each race lives on a different planet in their solar system, Orythia, circling their sun, Blasyx. Rina is half-Lupinari, half-Arcanin, so she looks like a normal Lupinari but with thicker fur and a star on her forehead. She, for a long time, was a prisoner of the Serpenree because they were trying to figure out what kind of magic she had. Long story short, she escapes and ends up in a long adventure, eventually forming the goal of freeing all the prisoners, not just herself.
Oooh poor Kaine. And you’re welcome!
Thanks! 🙂

Hi Freedom, this is a very late response to your last comment. I was doing a media fast for the past two weeks, and just got back, sorry I didn’t tell you😅 To answer your question though, I’ve been doing good, feeling refreshed and getting caught up on what I’ve missed on KP for the past while.

May 16, 2023 at 10:53 am #143608Welcome back man. Seems like your fast went well. Did you do any APs? Also how has the end of school year (if that is how your schooling works) been treating you?
Through darkness,
light shines brightestMay 16, 2023 at 11:32 am #143614Thanks, it did! I didn’t do any APs, I’ve been homeschooling with my own personalized classes, and the drawback of that is they don’t count as AP courses. I took the AP physics exam two years back, but that’s about it. If I was still in public school, I would have taken the AP calc, but I bet I’ll be fine to get into college without it though. The end of the year, and highschool as a whole has been good, college applications and my senior project I would say are the current highlights.

May 16, 2023 at 11:32 am #143615What about you? You did the AP history right?

May 16, 2023 at 11:56 am #143626Are you a senior (I feel like I should know this)? Good luck with your collage aps.
Yea. I did take the Euro exam. It was fun. The DBQ was weird though. It was on the Haitin revolution which is like a very tiny part of the APEuro exam. It worked out for me though because we had just covered the Haitian revolution in depth during my Global class.
I also did AP Comp Sci but that is a very easy class sooo it wasn’t very hard.
Also what is your senior project and how has your book been going?

@thearcaneaxiom I’m glad you got a chance to take a break! Glad life is going well for you!!! <3
May 16, 2023 at 12:18 pm #143641Yeah, I’m a Senior, adult life is looking at me with hungry eyes.
That’s awesome! It’s always nice when its something you’ve just covered, especially when it comes to something like history where you have to actually know things instead of being able to math yourself out of it.
My senior project was actually more of a challenge from my parents, which was to “mathematically prove God’s existence”. This is a very problematic challenge for a number of reasons though, so I changed it to “creating a mathematical model that could describe the nature of God” to some partial extent.
As for my book, I’ve been dealing with a little writers block, having ideas I want to get to, but needing to deal with the current events of the story. I’m a turtle of a writer, but slow but sure though right!

May 16, 2023 at 12:24 pm #143643Hey y’all!! Most of you probably don’t know me, so I’ll be brief in my introduction: my names Kylie (please call me Ky, I respond better to it anyway). I was formally Wilder W. here till I kinda fell out of wack and landed on a foreign planet called ‘life’. Then I made a re-appearance here then I got abducted back into life, and now I’m back again. I’m a senior in high school; homeschooled; love to play mandolin, guitar, piano, drums, flute…ect. I love music as a whole! I strive to bring morally, sound fiction to the middle-grade audience; my debut novel Rise of the LivingWood is published and I’m working on the second installment in that trilogy.
Life has not been easy lately. Three weeks ago, I got into a dirt bike accident; I crushed my tibia bone and fractured my kneecap. It was a very serious break that not many teenagers have, in fact, most adults don’t even have the break I have. I was taken to surgery. They had to put an eternal rod and screws into my bone to support it. An hour later, complications happened. I was losing blood too fast. Only ten% of all people with this injury have to go back in to get cut on either side of the calf to release pressure and let the blood drain. I was one of that 10%. They had to put gauze in my wound, and let it rest for days. I was in the hospital for a full week, recovering. I was blessed many times, and I continually knew that God was by my side, but I was still frustrated that I allowed myself to mess up and hurt myself this way. After a few days, they stitched my leg back up and sent me home.
Last Friday, I went into my fourth surgery. They took the external rod and screws out, and put internal plates in my leg. They re-stitched my leg back up and let us go home that very same day.
Now, I have metal objects in my leg, I won’t be able to put pressure on it for three months, and I have to walk with crutches everywhere I go. I’m part-cyborg…and I can’t really move much, so I write now. A lot of writing. But the meds make my brain a bit fuzzy now and then.So because I’m laid up, I decided to pay a visit to some of my ole’ pals @freedomwriter76 and @godlyfantasy12; Freedom really gave me the best encouragement when I was down and out last time…so, I figured I’d come back for a bit and say howdy!

#ProtectSebMay 16, 2023 at 12:57 pm #143648@freedomwriter76 Hey girlfriend…yeah, it was a close call there for the past couple of weeks. It’s been really rough. If I hadn’t been taken in when I did, I would have had to have my leg amputated. It honestly has been nerve-wracking for me. Thank you for the prayers; it’s what keeps this hope lit.
I missed you too. I just, life got really busy. Like, really REALLY busy. With school, and graduation next year, and doing four years of math in one year… it’s just been very, very overwhelming. Yeesh. That, and you never know how many blessings you have till your life almost gets taken from you and you realize, ‘I’m too young to die!!!!’ lol. But God has been really good. And at least now I can walk on crutches; doc doesn’t want me to put any weight on it till three months though. It’s too bad, but God has a plan. He always does. Even when its extremely painful.
